Spot on analysis...they are 'more than just a group' and yes, they were singing this to Tamu who just returned from maternity leave and rejoined the band for the first time. If you want to hear one of their heavier songs check out 'Dissention' (MV, Japanese ver.) or 'Zen' live Or try 'Ama-Te-Ras' for another departure from the two you have already watched. Again, nice reaction and thanks for checking out this amazing band!

As we all know that a person could change once they become a mother and some musicians had retired from performing entirely, which is not unusual. This performance was the band's performance to show appreciation to Murata Tamu the drummer, and thus every band members were facing her. This was Tamu's first appearance into the line-ups after taking a long maternity leave, which is also the longest time for any of the band members to be separated from the group. The fact that Tamu decided to continue her journey with the band after she gave birth really made them felt relieved and they perform the song to her with so much compassion and happiness to be together again. Tamu is now a mother of two and her peers (fellow drummers) commented that her drumming is more solid and forceful after she become a mother. She is also amusingly recognized her role as the mother of NEMOPHILA ever since her rhythmic partner, the bassist Haraguchi-san mentioned after one of their biggest concert that at certain occasion on stage, she looked up to Tamu as a mother figure.

Oh Heck Yes! Please don’t stop now. This is unquestionably on of my top Japanese bands. ❤️🌸
Amazing song and lyrics. That motivational facet of Nemophila I appreciate so much. ("Revive", "Rise"...) They actually shine a light in music. Give them _anything_ , and they turn it into gold. I am so glad to know their music. 💮🐺GER

When one knows the backstory to the video, and sees the various, emotional live performances on their blu-rays and live streams, this song can get a bit overwhelming. I can rarely hear it without getting a bit emotional myself. Since SAKI left the band it kind of hurts to see this video. I don't think any song has ever affected me quite as much as this one.

I think Mayu is falling back on the lyrics to this to help her through any rough times. She's going to scale any wall that confronts her no matter what.

Nemophila has a lot of cool songs. They have a variety about them that keeps their fans happy. The drummer also has her own channel worth checking out if you like music. Look for Muratatam with the stick figure drawing inside the light green circle. They also do amazing covers. They really built a following doing these weekly or fortnightly on Friday during the pandemic, hence the term "Nemophila Fridays". Their Japanese band covers from Maximum the Hormone as well as Rottengraffty are a good start.

It might be interesting to compare Nemophila’s most beautiful ballad (ODYSSEY) with their heaviest song (ZEN). You can also find unofficial videos of ODYSSEY with English subtitles.

Amazing ballad! Shows the softer side of them. As mentioned below, this was Tamu's return to the band after her maturnity leave for her first baby but also was Hazuki's (guitarist on left) birthday and that was the reason for the cake! You have jumped down a huge rabbit hole here. Another band I would recommend is Whiskey Dust, Japanese Hard Rock band and their song Shake and Shiver, kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqfcoWquhpqGn8U and their cover of Motley Crue's Kick Start My Heart. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3TGdmSqitClr6M
