Many thanks for this walk-around video. As someone who'll never get THIS close to one of these machines, this is as good as it gets. I've never seen a long reach Liebherr before but quite a few high reach demolition machines & scrap handlers of theirs and talking to the guys who run them, they are very fond of them indeed. And yes, very quiet too!

I ran a 924 and 934 long reach at a junkyard both were wheeled had a cab raise I tell you what when an out rigger leaks off and your cabs 15 foot in the air and and a magnet at the end of the boom when that sumbitch starts rocking its like a rodeo. loved that. machine

Chris I ran a brand new one in 2001 and it was the same thing with the HVAC controls, most of the other functions took a while to figure out too as everything was in German. You did have to be careful with the swing too but it was probably the smoothest swing I've encountered on an excavator. Did you guys rent or lease that machine just for that job?
@prinzeugenvansovoyen7324 жыл бұрын
the engine is a MAN- Turbo-Diesel design thats manufactured and assembled by Liebherr themselves

Looks ridiculously expensive for parts, the only Liebherr you see up here are the high-reach units in scrap yards and log yards. Not too much Liebherr dealers around here.

Nice Machine, Liebherr make theyre Own Engines Chris, Have done for years, they are classed as the crem de la creme of excavators in Europe...and priced to match!

In that group of screens at 10:20 was that one screen showing the angle of the dangle? I imagine that would be incredibly useful for newer operators who can't visually tell the angle.

I know I'm way late to the party here, but even to a heavy machine neophyte like me, it's pretty obvious that the 'Tool/Wrench' means Maintenance Times. I think Chris was pulling our leg, feigning ignorance. 😄

got a 944 at my job when the auto lube light blinks the machine needs grease. And we call them leaky bears because when they leak they don't stop leaking. And good look figuring out the buttons I still don't know after 2 and a half years

We had 2-934s and 2-944s. I always said Liebherr must be German for leaker. There were some high-pressure 90-degree fittings and steel lines on the main valve body that broke in the first couple of weeks. The low-pressure control lines started leaking before they were out of warranty. We were constantly replacing sensors and control coils.

i always wanted to keep it simple when i build machines. computers and human interface devices are great for the engineer but useless to the operator. hard to trouble shoot etc.. nice is nice but they need to balance their knowledge of tech with the experience of working in the field. too many do not, over complicate stuff to make it look good but impossible to maintain, or at least very complicated to do repair work far beyond what is necessary. form fit and function is not taught much i think, but also, usable, maintainable, reliable, open source electronic components it a must. why buy some kids pipe dream that has never done anything or had to fix anything, theoretical or in the field. many great engineers make stuff so complicated for job security and not usefulness it pisses me off. i could go on but sorry for the rage moment. design for the job, make it simple as possible, make it easy to repair and maintain. add pin stripes when done.

Swing lock is needed when doing precise lifting, all those buttons make sense to me, but I'm just different. All those modes on the screen can be set for stick/swing/bucket/travel preformance and flow, Volvo does the same. Really standard stuff to tech savy people and nerds.

P is not performance, it's Power mode, full pump flow from both pumps and full engine power, E is economy, about 80% flow, lower rpm, F is full mode - full power with load-sensing mode and L mean low revs.

Hey I work for a construction company in Canada. I have a question for you hopefully I’ll get an answer but I see all these videos of you in all these machines. Now do you own these all? Like do you own a company? Or are you an operator for a construction company? If you own one how big is it? Do you have many people working for you?
@letsdig186 жыл бұрын
hey, we do own most of them, but this one here is a rental. its a family business. just 3 of us

letsdig18 so cool thank you for the reply love the videos and you’re a great operator. I lay pipe here in Canada and I’ve seen many excellent operators and you my friend clearly know what you’re doing lol. Keep up the good work. I have a lot of respect for good operators as the work I do here usually ends up with the lives of people being in the operators hands as we go down as deep as 18-20 feet and in as narrow as a 3 foot wide trench. Keep up the amazing work

@@punchaw1 don't need to worry about time failure with the autos. The ones we ran were set up that they greased enough that it could go down for a day without needing it, but even if it does go down they have Grease nipples on the blocks so you can Grease with a Grease gun
