Yeah, so, um, it's my humble opinion that ANY above average operator could do this. I don't mean to knock this guy-- he's got balls, but did anyone else notice the specialized attachments, hooks and pins that were used? Taylor-make me a machine to go with a taylor-made "tower" and I'll climb it too!! Still, props to the operator, it still took balls being that high off the ground... I think the real talent shown here was to the engineers that built the tower and attachments to climb it.

The counterweight on the back of the excavator is probably styrofoam or some other light material therefore eliminating 7ooo lbs or more of weight I would think as opposed to the one for actual digging and lifting. Just a thought.

@signa8 The arm is not welded to the tower. During the stunt the reporter was saying multiple times that the plate was just locked into position. The flames at the end were just pyrotechnics to show that he had won his bet.
