I feel like this is a great idea for college students. Especially dorm rooms on campus. Small space made bigger like this would help with keeping organized. It's hard to stay organized when you are studying courses so often you don't have time to make a system. Dorm rooms are small spaces expanding like this would definitely be helpful.

Great of you to bring this to North America! Here in Atlantic Canada, we are a wood producing Province and I would see this type of furniture made with wood, less expensive, and suited to multi unit hostice buildings for sick, elderly and/or 'down and out persons'. It would also be a great retro-fit for our aging Universities, in these tough economic times. Many thanks for your taking on this great idea.

I am very impressed by these space saving furniture ideas. All of my furniture is so huge after moving from a 4 bedroom house with a formal dining room, larger eat in kitchen, family room , living room, 2 bathroom house with an attic and full basement. In addition a front porch , and backyard. I've had to give away some furniture to down size to apartment living I realize my furnishings are still too large and bulky and considering down sizing even more despite loving my furnishings. These new furniture are so amazing, clutter free and transitional. They're fantastic.

As someone else said, there are some places where living space is more expensive than you can possible imagine. Where I live you can rent a small studio (100 - 200 sq ft) for about $1000-1500 USD a month, depending on the location, plus other fees like utilities and such. You can either buy space saving furniture like this or you can simply just do without things like a desk or storage space. This furniture is a very special market, not intended for everyone
@rageboyRM12 жыл бұрын
The desks/beds can be put together, other things like the bed/closet have to be in a house that you are buying or you get a contractor to take out a space and put it in for you, but that could include breaking down part of a wall to create that space.

Common sense always turns out to be, to some extent, a buzz kill, doesn't it? It's not there because it's NOT THAT SIMPLE! It's cool, it's terrific for "once in awhile", but for every day? Ha! What's funny to me is that it all screams '60's in terms of colors! Also, it's all plastic over fake wood, which is why it HAS to have all that "mechanized" assistance, because that stuff WEIGHTS A FREAKING TON compared to wood! Just think before spending...
@MrDonkrypton7 жыл бұрын
Yes, and this furniture SHOUTS AT YOU! It says, 'I'M MODERN! I'M HIGH QUALITY! BUY ME' - and you stand in front of it and you suddenly recognise, that it's much nicer than grandmothers old stuff you still keep and you GET ANGRY, because you can't afford it and you leave a COMMENT ON KZbin to tell everyone, that you have a lousy taste and just want to live in the 19th century...
@maargenbx14546 жыл бұрын
Nailed it. This stuff is incredibly well designed. Way too expensive for me to buy (Now. Prices will go down as they become more popular), but that's no reason to pretend having a huge piece of furniture that you only really need when you're unconscious take up so much space all day is a better way to go.

The quality is defined by the American company who contracted the Chinese manufacturer, so the American company can undercut American companies that hire Americans. Stop blaming Chinese workers.
@ahal_gokdepe7 жыл бұрын
What? you clearly don't know how business works. Quality products can and are being made in China. In any case how do you know that its not being made in China? or Any other Asian Country? It is possible that parts are made in China and assembled in italy. After they put together all the parts, they can put a sticker on it that says 'Made in Italy or France or whatever' That's how 95% mainstream luxury brands do it. bottom line is, its made in some other country. Why? because its cost effective. Not cheap labor, but because of cheap management. Everyone goes where cheap management is!

I don't understand why people says this is for lazy people.The concept is already explained:space saver.Is for small houses or apartments.The obvious idea I can get if you already have a big house, is that this can be used when you have visitors, a lot of friends, relatives, etc. and they can all hang out with you on vacations or weekends. It's a precious idea. If I were a millionaire, this would be one the things I'd buy to actually receive my friends whenever they wanted to visit and party.

For the spinning beds, have you ever thought about doing this with a built-in wardrobe instead? Hangers would be too deep if you tried to hang them straight in, but if you had a section either on a hinge to swing out or that pulled out like a drawer, you could have about 12" of depth of hanging rod in four different sections. Or just do two sections, and have drawers/shelves beneath for storing folding clothes or shoes. Maybe even have a table that folds up to be a desk. Most versatile guest room/office ever!
