Ich bin ja niemand der den Kommunismus unterstützt -würde also niemals die Linkspartei wählen, jedoch finde ich das wir die DDR nicht verleugnen oder vergessen sollten, da sie nun mal auch ein wichtiger Teil der Deutschen Geschichte ist.

Die Linkspartei steht für einen "demokratischen" Sozialismus und dieser hat mit Kommunismus im klassischen Sinne, nicht das Geringste zu tun. Da liegen Welten dazwischen. Diese Unterschiede sollte man schon kennen, bevor man alles in einen Topf schmeißt.

I remember and appreciated what the great champion Katarina Witt said in favour of her country and the help from the state, the now extint DDR. It was the same in the ex Yugoslavija. My relatives were and are nostalgic of the old Yugoslav Federation and who can blame them?

Waw, what a beautiful instrumental version of this song! I never thought that I would enjoy the songs from this period. Musically, the patriotic songs of the former GDR are very good. But the texts clearly reveal that it was a dictatorship, with the communist party at its head, as in all of the East. Thank you Dr.Ludwig for this post! 😊😊😊😊😊🎼🎵🎶

When have you ever seen real democracy on the West? Without slavery, colonialism, racism, imperialism, etc.? Could you notice a democratic procedure by which the Western peoples in the 21st century have decided to occupy Iraq, Afghanistan, starting wars against Libya and Syria? Do the Western civil socities have really control how these wars are accomplishing and conducting, or you mostly prefer to benefit from them? To be more hypocritical and plutocratic does not mean to be good. :)

@@understood1387 Thank you for this comment. You are quite right about what you are saying. But totalitarian regimes in the East and capitalism in the West, with colonialism and the outbreak of wars to grab more resources, are no different, are in fact facets of the same coin, heads or tails or as the same double-sided paper. But I was talking strictly about this song and what the odes brought to the party and leaders in power meant in the Communist East. What is the difference between the big capitalist concerns and the communist parties? I'm telling you: none. The two have the same principles, but perhaps not the same means to achieve it, which gives the impression (obviously false), that these 2 regimes are different.

@@AMM-bs2ku Unfortunately, you are right. I am ex-Soviet and the recognition that USSR was not real socialism and democracy, but mostly imperial state capitalism - this was the most grave disillusionment in my life. And yes, USSR was hiddenly, but closely tied to the West. The disillusionment with the West during the last 20 years is my second one. I think, DDR failed because socialism and democracy in USSR had failed, however, DDR did all of their best. They saved their people and that was the most important thing for the Germans after WWII. Eben deshalb war es nicht alles schlecht. And yes, I fully admit our part of responsibility in this bitter end. Well, nowadays I see the USA and Britain as total disasters, the continental Europe is a bit better, China makes me believe.

It's blue, not black. The Pionierorganisation Ernst Thälmann used both blue and red neckers. In fact, until the 1970s they were all blue, but they were changed to red to reflect the Soviet design
