Partially true! The only problem is that he's also blinded by his own need for control trumping the care for his creations/own son. As is proven by the secret human/lies ending. (Even if he ends up realizing the errors of his actions.)

​@@norrecvizharan1177 For me, Baldur's Gate is GOTY because it did something that the last decade showed us was practically impossible: it brought the awesomeness of CRPGs to the mainstream, and it showed that the general public can and will engage with fairly complex AAA games that don't follow the ghost train ride or the open world structure, as long as quality and most of all accessibility are up to par. Did you know games like Deus Ex used to be praised far and wide in game's media? Yet nowadays you don't even hear of immersive sims. Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 used to be praised as some of the best RPGs ever made, and they still are, but you would be hard pressed to find someone under the age of thirty that actually played either of those titles. Baldur's Gate 3 brought some of that appreciation for complexity to the front and center, and I love it for that.

Like I said in this comment thread before: it arguably depends on which style of game you love more. Both are pretty amazing in their own right, but those who prefer soulslikes would likely think Lies of P is better, while RPG fans enjoy Balders Gate. Personally, I'm into both styles of games, so I think they're pretty equally awesome and deserving of my time (though obviously one's had a much longer development time and more vocal devs than the other).@@krakkenzomboid6341

i love how it feels like your supposed to be weaker, the increase for a level gets higher so quickly and farming isn't worth it, such a great game to play and struggle on
