To the guy that said junk.. well I have had every Japanese brand in dirt bikes and scooters and mini bikes. This is pretty much on par with them except it isn't efi. But I am not really interested in efi in small engines. You can mod the little motors so much easier. And what is the benefit of fuel injection anyways starts better???? These start very easy. And it is stock out of the box faster than the Kawasaki and the Honda. For $2000 difference hands down I would take this bike even if the Honda and kawi were the same price I would have to honestly think about it. So again the guy that says it's junk you have to take it for a ride and not be bias.

True. I've had a Chinese 250cc honda clone for 5 years and 35k miles and the only issues were bolts coming loose. Lock tight most of the bolts and never had any issues since.

Fuel injection is just better all the way around except for upgrades. Starts better, runs smoother, less maintainance, less of a pain to deal with, easier to store in the winter, etc. That being said, I'm looking at the Lifan KPR200, seems like a great bike plus it has EFI.

That's the worst thing you can do to a new engine is reving it when it's brand new
@rustybeatty65674 жыл бұрын
The sad part is this motorcycle cost half of what a Honda grom and monkey and can outperform the both of them and if you put the difference of the price into modifications then the grom/monkey would even have a chance of catching up with the motorcycle. Only thing I would do to this motorcycle is a carburetor change to a mikuni vm26 30mm and modify the air intake system and add a 17 tooth front sprocket and remove the baffle from the factory exhaust and add a windscreen.

Lifan used to build honda engines...with honda bearings. That's China's weakness they don't have good bearing technology they make ball point pens, and have to import the ball bearings for them from Japan. In the end if you check everything when you get it, it's not a bad little machine. It's not going to last like a Honda. BUT you pay $1500 for a bike if it's fun for 2 years, and you have to rebuild the engine you got your money's worth. Most people who ride Grom's hard have already over bored, and rebuilt their engines multiple times. Little single cylinders don't like to be romped on.

Nah it’s the exhaust it has baffles. It’s a Honda engine made by lifan who’s a Honda oem manufacturer it’s just from looking plastics it’s frame and engine and transmission from a 98 Honda crb jdm mini motorcycle. Do your research you clearly don’t know much about engines.

Lifan is a top brand in China, their products are very reliable and excellent price for what they offer. Most of their bikes are fuel injected when not even the so called brands even have that. I have the new 200 EFI enduro expect and I have beat the crap out of it on and off road and 2000 miles later runs even better ,, so to the idiots that talk trash try one and by the way lifan is a major parts producer for the " BIG BRANDS" so yes your so called expensive called bike , yes you have lifan parts on it.😜

Thanks for uploading, I have my eye on one of these as well. After riding would you still get the Hawk or wait for the Lifan? Could you supply us with the couple who your friend purchased the 150 from.

I would stick with the 'Hawk;, simply because I like dual-sport.. Yeah, I'll get the site & number from him...

These guys claim to have them, and they also state they WON'T ship them, meaning they might have a trick to get them registered in state norcoridepowersports.com/ ? When I called American Lifan a couple months ago, the guy who answered the phone said they are trying to get them CARB certified.
@peddeler26 жыл бұрын
American LIfan also told me that they were going to get the Lifan Pony CARB certified. Never happened, now they dont even sell them anymore.
@culcune6 жыл бұрын
I have a feeling they might get these CARB certified--there is too large a market in California for a bike like this. The Pony 100 seemed to be a cool bike from the few I remember reading about on forums, but I think it had limited marketability due to the smaller engine, especially in California (my theory) to warrant the cost. Come to think of it, they seemed to pull the plug way too quickly on that bike before it could gain a foothold anywhere in the US. I hope they sell the KP Mini in spades AND get it CARB certified. They had a press release a year or so ago where they invited journalists to ride racing versions of them (the report link used to be on American Lifan's site) on a road-racing track in China, and I could envision an entire budget-racing series based on the racing versions. That alone would be worth it for them to get CARB certification for both 'off-road' versions and street versions
@culcune5 жыл бұрын
Update, and I am sure you already knew, but these are CARB certified.

One of my biggest gripes with the bike is the foot pegs.. They arn't spring loaded so when they fall the peg eats the whole fall..dropped it at like 8 mph doing a wheelie and whole peg bent.. cheap china metal.
