This is brilliant. Thanks so much for posting this. My daughter got CAPPED and has been agonizing… she really wanted to go to UT and was sad about the things she would miss (experiences) as a freshman if she chose this program. Y’all are so real! So encouraging! Absolutely addressed all of the things she is struggling with. Thanks so much for this super helpful and authentic post. I can’t wait to share it with her! I hope y’all are doing well 😊

I’m so confused. I got capped this year. At first I felt pretty sad but at the same time I know that some time things are made this way to make you even more determined. My question though is if the CAP program is mostly intended for liberal arts, can you still direct yourself to another major? For example, I wanted to go to the college of natural sciences at UT but got capped, is it possible to still make that happen regardless if it’s intended for liberal arts?

it’s possible! you got to get good grades though
@marionwilliams833 жыл бұрын
Yes! You it’s definitely harder to get into a major that’s not Liberal Arts but it’s not impossible! You just have to make great grades.
@ightmocha77352 жыл бұрын
Hi I was wondering what happened and what path you took
@Mqpc2 жыл бұрын
you get placed into Lib Arts, if you wanna go to natural sciences or business as an example you would need a higher gpa than the required and do an internal transfer, its not guaranteed but you get multiple tries to get into the college of wtv

I'm not a CAP student, but I am an incoming transfer to UT and this video was so comforting still! I'm also going for Kinesiology so it's nice to see that there's other students with different experiences in the same major.

So happy that you put this video together. UT capped my daughter yesterday so your video is promising! Do you know if UT considers CAP transfers to non-liberal arts program have an edge over non-cap external transfers? Do CAP students have an edge over other students?

Nikki Patel What building and room plan did you choose? Do you have any recommendations or advice?
@nikkipatel43484 жыл бұрын
@@ivettehernandez5008 I lived in KC hall with 2 roommates. We each had our own individual rooms and it was the ideal living situation!! I definitely recommend it! Arlington hall also has the individual room option but it's just on a diff part of campus. KC hall's location was really nice for walking to class, Arlington hall was closer to the dining hall, just depends on whatcha want! hope this helped:)

Why not just go to Austin Community College? Many of their students eventually transfer to UT and it's cheaper and closer to UT. Also some ACC students take classes at UT. UTA doesn't have football but the Dallas Cowboys are like a block away in a huge beautiful stadium. UT is really selling an experience because honestly most of the graduates of UT have the same opportunities as the graduates of UTA ... especially if you're not in any UT honors program
@Bluey3084 жыл бұрын
When you transfer, you don’t automatically get into UT, but when you’re capped you get all your credits directly transferred to UT, and I think you automatically get in

Do cap students go to the regular UT campus like everyone else that got accepted regularly? Or do they all live in a different location?
