When I was a substitute in a high school, I had a teacher try to kick me out of the staff room. She was like, "what are you doing in here?" I'm all, ".... uhh... I work here". She was pretty embarrassed.

I work at a school. I would get yelled at all the time, then get a "take it as a compliment" lol. I still get yelled at by the same staff member once a week 🤦‍♀️

One of my favorite teachers was my high school Spanish teacher. She would always greet us at the door, and always had spanish music playing when we came in. Then she would work some of those songs into our studies, by helping us translate and break them down in English. Very fun and memorable!

I love videos like this where you do a bit of a day in the life but then also talk about classroom and teaching related stuff/tips! I’m a college student studying to be a Math teacher and will be transferring from my JC to a 4 year University next year! When I met with the academic advisor from the school in transferring to, we went over upper division classes and a lot of actual teaching classes and in super excited! I have so many classes I’m enjoying right now including multicultural literature and language development. I just feel like as students studying to be teachers now we are given so many more opportunities to learn about different topics that concern students and plan before going into the classroom and I absolutely love it. :)

I'm absolutely in love with your sweater! I'm really considering becoming a math teacher. I'm the type of person who overthinks everything so I asked opinions out of classmates and it seems a little discouraging what I hear from them. I don't take everything to heart because I know how much my high school could have benefited from more teachers. I've commented before, but always really late on your videos. I'm a sophomore in college, majoring in middle childhood education. My licensure will be for grades 4-9 with my certifications in social studies and language arts. My mom is a high school teacher and I've seen her my whole life go above and beyond her duty as a teacher to help her students, and that has always inspired me to want to make a difference in kids' lives the way she does. I stumbled upon your videos a few months ago and since then I've just been obsessed with you and your channel. You're so upbeat and encouraging. Gosh we are the SAME person!!! I’m 22 and currently working on my Masters degree to become (hopefully) a science teacher!!! Right now we’re prepping our edTPA portfolios and learning about 5E lesson structures (engage, explore, explain, extend, evaluate)! I’ve been waiting for a video on your classroom management and this did not disappoint, so thank you!! Also, something you may find interesting - one of the main focuses of our program is culturally-responsive teaching, how culture influences behavior management, lesson design, and our overall relationships with students. As a white teacher, it’s really important to me to learn about cultures different from my own in order to know how to make all of my kids feel welcome and safe in my classroom no matter who they are.
