Is it relatively the same as CRNA?
@kingtrevi Жыл бұрын
she went to medical school so they are doctors of medicine, and specialize in anesthesia. CRNAs are not doctors of medicine but practice anesthesia.

They definitely have more advanced training and they get paid a lot more money as an MD anesthesiologist versus an nurse anesthetist or anesthesiologist assistant. But they primarily do the same functions.
@boothman9321 Жыл бұрын
CRNA's are ICU nurses (at least 1 year of ICU experience, and you must have a BSN) who go through a 3 year doctorates program. So while CRNA's do have a doctorates, they are not the same as anesthesiologists who are medical doctors who go on to specialize in anesthesia. In some states CRNA's must practice under an anesthesiologist, and those states have rules as to how involved the anesthesiologist has to be with your practice. Other states allow CRNA's to work more or entirely independently, kind of similar to how Physician Assistants work in the US (In some states you can be an independent provider and in others you have to work under a doctor). I'd recommend BoltCRNA here on KZbin if you're interested in learning more.

Oh? Nah. CRNA is only a nurse. Anesthesiologist is a physician. Big big difference.

@@zen_mindset1they do “similar” but not “the same” things.

I am pretty sure she wouldn't be making the kind of money she makes here over in Canada that could be a contributing factor.
