My father was also part of United Nations Organization Mission in Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUC) back in 2006-07. Seeing this totally devastate me that many years has been passed but there is no peace yet.

My father was in the Congo as an Irish UN peacekeeper from Jan to June 61. He was a Bren Gunner. It was very hostile out there and they were involved in several engagements of combat. Amazing to see UN troops still there nearly 60 years after his tour. He's still alive at nearly 80.

Well of course, India is the best country to conduct peacekeeping missions for several reasons. If you send peacekeepers from Europe or even China and Russia the local population will just view them as colonialists or imperialists. The next problem is some of the countries that take on these missions don't have a well developed military. So that makes India perfect there not viewed as colonialists and India does posses a well developed military.
