Hey! Graphic Designer from Miami here. I totally feel the chaotic and emotional journey that comes with trying to “make it” in the field, which means differently for everyone. It took me 8 years of several design jobs, internships, freelance, school, working jobs not even in design, losses, depression, etc. to finally be “happy” with where I’m at. I’ve learned to truly enjoy my journey moving forward & to celebrate every single win. I’m currently an in-house designer for my cities NBA team 🏀 & have launched my agency as of recently, obtaining the biggest first client I could have never imagined a few years ago. I’ve never been this happy with the projects I work on now. It all works out exactly how you envision it to, but like how you said, by putting the work in even on days you’re not feeling it. Keep doing your thing!! 👏🏼

Paola I LOVE that you are making videos about your experience as a graphic designer and sharing all the aspects of it (good and bad) because I feel like it’s something a lot of freelancers don’t share, and a lot of times I just see “oh yay here are my successes”! I’m a freelance illustrator and I can relate to so many aspects of this! I actually went to school for graphic design and your content always inspires me to work on fun design projects or even work on my portfolio a bit. Thanks for being here, you are so appreciated! ☺️

Thx for sharing what you go thru as a designer. I find myself in a similar boat as yourself. I didnt realize this feeling of freezing is something that other designers went through but its reassuring that sometimes, thats part of the journey for us. keep up the great stuff, it's clear to see that youre feeling that passion for design!!

Hello Paola, I'm a beginner graphic designer, and I'm completely new to Adobe Photoshop. Every time I open Photoshop, I find myself overwhelmed by all the layers and features, which gives me a headache. I would really appreciate it if you could create a tutorial on Adobe Photoshop, focusing on how to create mockups and other useful techniques.✨💛

As a graphic designer, I am glad that you overcame depression which is normal and happens a lot, I had such an issue when I stepped into graphic design with imposter syndrome. goes around! Currently, it's just behind my back and enjoying the daily ongoing basis process as a graphic designer, for more ambitious results. Good luck Paola!

Hello! I just got my graphic arts associates, I am planning on going to Uni to get my bachelors which will probably happen in a year or two. I’m kinda stuck atm because I feel like although I got an introduction of what graphic design is, I wasn’t practicing enough since my professor always looked for the same format. I am thinking about saving up for a good computer and get adobe software so I can practice during the summer. So much has been going on and I haven’t made time for it but I really just want to sit down and be creative again. That’s pretty much where I’m at lol. Also I live in a small town, so the only groups of graphic designers I know are all from college but maybe once I’m a student again?

The best friends I’ve made were from design school! Just focus on your creativity! Watch tutorials, look online at inspo, just do what feels right for you🤍 you have plenty of time
