Good to see they look after their workers, monitor the drivers sleep patterns and diet. Healthy drivers equals less accidents
@davidfortier69764 жыл бұрын
Truck drivers have usually been pretty safe drivers, back in ~2005 (in North America at least) they had half as many at-fault accidents per driver-kilometer than the national averages. But there's usually room for improvement and I agree, nice to see them working on it.

This is an amazing look at the men/women who drive trucks that literally keep a nation alive. Much of it on two-lane blacktop. Unbelievable! They seldom get the credit they deserve so let's raise our glass to them right now! Cheers from Canada--another vast country with few highways to reach remote towns.

I never thought trucking was cool until i saw these articulated semis. I don't know why they don't have turbine trucks because they would work real well in Australia. They would well on flat open ground and there are long flat terrains all over the world they would work well in. in the U.S. it may be to late because the traffic on highways, and i'm sure many of Australia's logistic centers are near highways (so these trucks can drop of trailers) so they don't have to go deep into towns and cities were they'd congested traffic. But if you zone properly so factories and intermodal facilities are located by highways/rail lines/waterways/airfields it would make a super efficient logistics network being you could move 3-4 times the goods with 1/3rd the truck drivers.

About fifteen years ago I read in, I think Popular Science, that mankind collectively moves enough Earth for all purposes, mostly mining and construction, to fill the Grand Canyon four times. The Grand Canyon's volume is estimated at 5.45 trillion cubic yards, which works out to almost 4 200 cubic kilometers. So if all that's correct, we move (but not necessarily mine) 12 000 to 13 000 cubic kilometers of Earth each year. The largest mine is the Bingham Canyon copper mine in Utah, USA. it is also the largest man made excavation and is allegedly visible from an orbiting space shuttle without binoculars/telescope. It is about five cubic kilometers. None of this is exactly an answer to your question, but might interest you.
The video is very good but its music makes it unpleasant
