For years, Geoff and Layne have been alternating who is in charge of each video. This year, Eli is stepping up and taking on a share of the responsibility for the whole video (not just singing and doing the lighting). He did Creep, and now this one. I’m so happy about this change. I think Eli brings a new depth of emotion and love his idea for using this song to show young love (which can often disappear leaving you disoriented).

I love the original version of the song, but damn I love this Spanglish version!! And the delay in the beatboxing was a perfect choice to make. Geoff's bass drop was as always awesome, and did you know that Cesar did the costuming for this one?! This was perfection! Great reaction as always!!

I've heard this one about 20 times so far. I love Ashley and Cesar together. Both Ashley and Cesar grew up in the same Puerto Rico neighborhood as children before their families made the move to Florida. They come by the Spanish naturally. Ashley has done several videos with VoicePlay: We Don't Talk About Bruno (Encanto), If I Were a Rich Man/Girl (Fiddler on the Roof), Running Up That Hill (Kate Bush/Stranger Things), Shero Reacts (PubG -I think), a few shorts/minis: Time Warp (Rocky Horror Picture Show), River (Bishop Briggs), Como La Flor (Selena), Your Turn to Role (Critical Role), The Pink Panther theme, Super Mario 2 theme.

She's done quite a few with Voiceplay, like "If I Were a Rich Man/Girl" and "We Don't Talk About Bruno" and "Running Up That Hill" and many many shorts. She's pretty much an honorary member by now. They've done quite a few with Ashley now. She's amazing! Yes, they are speaking Spanish, no, they are not a couple, lol. They're good friends though. Some favorites with Ashley are "If I Were a Rich Man/Girl," "We Don't Talk About Bruno," and "Running Up That Hill." All three of those are fantastic. Awesome reaction, guys!! ❤

I've finally stopped crying when I watch this. This is absolutely beautiful! The arrangement was done by another friend, Rob Dietz who has done several for them, and a lot of their shorts/minis. The vision and video was all Eli.

Who can't relate To the whole left in your life when somebody important to you Leave leaves. Her voice and Caesar's works so well together and her run at the very end was sublime. Instantly one of my favorite voice plays songs

Ashley (Ashley Diane Rosa - no relation to Cesar de la Rosa) has a stunning voice, she and Cesar are old friends from Puerto Rico. The Spanish is part of a cover that was very popular in Puerto Rico. The general look is reminiscent of the 80s when the original first came out. We first heard Cesar singing in Spanish in We're Good. Omar Cardona, and his brother EJ, who have appeared with VP too and are also friends of Cesar's. Did you catch that seriously low note of Geoff's? I think you were talking.

I learned, that the spanish version of the song was very popular in Puerto Rico at the time. And since Cesar and Ashley both have their origins in Puerto Rico, they mixed the versions together as a reminiscense. I like VPs version very much. It's a few notches more on the sad side than the original, but thus very powerful emotionally.

Ashley and Cesar are both Puerto Rican. But only close friends. So they're singing in Spanish.
