I bought a cheap broom to use to clean my tubs and tiles also! No more kneeling and scrubbing in my old age! The key is to let whatever cleaner you use SET on the dirty tile or tub for at least 5 or 10 minutes, to get the most cleaning action from it. Just don't let it dry all day!

Great idea! Gonna try this! Also, a tip tip I learned from housekeepers years ago to cut down on the buildup from ever occurring is when cleaning the tub and tiles is always start by scrubbing with hot water and dish soap! It cuts that nasty grime and gets the infamous “tub ring” gone in a few minutes! Rinse away the soapy grime with hot water and then you just follow up with a bleach cleaning spray, let sit for few minutes to disinfect, and then rinse it away with cool water. That’s it! If you spray a daily shower cleaner like the Method brand one from Target after every shower it’ll keep it looking fresh and you’ll only really have to clean the tub once every 2/3 weeks!
@tlook69005 жыл бұрын
Hi Leah- love everything you do! After I deep clean the shower/tub tiles I wax them - like a car, using car wax- this really helps repel the water and repeated buildup 😊. I learned it from a hotel cleaning lady when I was a youngster!

I have been using bleach-based toilet bowl cleaner for other cleaning projects for years! Glad you shared this on your channel! I also use it to clear SLOW, hair-clogged drains. Just use enough to insure the walls of the drain, as well as the offending material, are well coated and let it sit for 2 hours to overnight, then pour boiling water into the drain. If you will do this once a month (more often if necessary) you won't have to worry about clogged drains anymore! Thank you so much for this channel!

😁👍🏻IT WORKS! Since it's a gel it stays on the grout longer. I didn't need to scrub cause I personally left it on for an hour or more, and the mildew wasn't black, it was discolored. I no longer pour it on to the bottom, cause once it reached the bathtub it discolored it, or should I say streaks, I didn't control the flow of the gel. I put more on the sponge and cleaned the bathtub, also left in on for an hour. It worked. GUESS WHAT! The streaks was the actual color of the bathtub, wasn't as cleaned as I thought. Another thing, by using this product on the grout, the effects last longer, with less mildew repeating. Thank you Leah!

Leah is right - READ THE DIRECTIONS. Mixing different cleansers can be VERY DANGEROUS. Another tip: either open the window or turn on the vent fan when doing this job. You have at least one or the other, use it.
@mikethelma5 жыл бұрын
ABSOFRICKINGLOUTELY! That stuff is just bleach and inhaling those fumes will sear your lungs. Turn on the vent fan and open a window if you have one. Alternatively set up a largish fan to blow air into the bathroom. Wear at least one of those paper masks ... if you don't have a paint respirator. Seriously ... people underestimate the danger of fumes in closed small spaces. That said, I'm going to try this trick next time the grout chore comes around. OH! And you make a good point about 'good enough". You can drive yourself batty if you don't know when enough is enough. LOL Lastly ... any ideas for cleaning glass shower doors? I've tried most of what I've seen but they only work to a point. Most of the crud is deposited salts from the water supply so vinegar should do the job ... you'd think. But neither vinegar nor CLR or any of those acidic products get the job done. Oh, I lied. One more question. Have you any thoughts on automatic bathroom fans. It seems like a good way to free up a switch for a heat lamp. Thanks again, Leah.

As always, Leah, a great video! I'll be using your bathtub caulk guidance when I do that project next week. My tile grout repair project came out looking perfectly professional last year, thanks to your splendid coaching. Saved $600! I love being a self-reliant woman. Now, about that grout … I don't like inhaling toxic chemicals, so don't buy commercial products, and I prefer not to bring anything home in a plastic container. Since an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, I spray my bathtub surround with a 50-50 water-vinegar solution after every shower, and NEVER have mold form. I only have to scrub once a year with a baking soda-vinegar-Dawn mixture, and that's because eventually soap scum does collect, but mold does not. Now that your customer has clean tile and grout, you might want to recommend vinegar and water to keep it that way, practically forever.
