I think it is mainly those who have been to university who can speak English with reasonable fluency. I think it’s because good grades in the subject of English language study (though I don’t think English literature, necessarily) are necessary for admittance. Either that or the study of English is a compulsory subject, along with philosophy and Russian literature (though I’m not sure about the other two).

Hello and nice to meet you! Here in America there are also many old and destroyed buildings in many places. That cathedral has beautiful architecture as many buildings in Russia do. In a small city north of me there is a Russian Orthodox church which is beautiful and conducts services regularly. Many Russian immigrants built it many years ago and their descendants keep it maintained. This summer I want to go up and take some pictures of it. Best wishes to you from the White Mountains of New Hampshire!

I liked the video just after listening "400 kms"...Idk why the f us and uk use miles and pounds for measurements instead of internationally recognised standards.

Thanks, Evgeniya, good video. Good voice too, not just a pretty face. The closest I've been to Russia is knowing some Russians in Canada and Norway, and Israel, but also, going to Latvia, which has many Russians as you probably know. This video reminded me of bits of Latvia (Riga and Liepaja).

Thank you so much for the tour of this cool city. You did a great job. I grew up in a coal camp in the mountains of West Virginia that was much like the old city, even the water pump. I just love it. Can you do one with the trees in bloom? I would like to see what summer looks like.
