Thanks for your hard work in raising awareness to these small villages and communities, another place I can add to my vision of offering free development to. I used to have to do the exact same as them when I lived in the rural parts of Jamaica and walked 1hour to go river to catch water and bring it back home in buckets on my head, no afraid to say I've been there, so even though I no longer live in Jamaica I still strongly remember my roots.

I just donated $25.00 to your PayPalme Linkin the description box. I gotta say Jasmine, this video, I struggled to hold back some tears. There's a number of valid concerns appropriately voiced by the growing comments here. Such meager lunch meals at school. Basic nutrition? I didn't see filters (though may be in use) for the water to prevent Guinea worms from entering the body. I hope many others donate so the students can get bicycles in short time. The Principal's office needs a bookshelf and another filing cabinet. The teachers need (and deserve) better toilet and shower facilities. I love how well mannered the children are and also take pride in the neat and clean uniforms. I look forward to future updates! Nyame nhyira wo!

Thats how many of us village kids grew up.Same in the Pacific Islands.Bt we hve tuffa tanks that our local government so we use rain water for drinking and cooking. For shower, those of use from the Islands we swim in the sea and then rinse off salt water off frm water frm our well. Each house has water well..I remember,as going to the sea to bath,I hve to clean dirty pots.Use sand to brush it clean.Sea is jst 3 to 5 steps frm my house.😊 Tracking or paddling to school is fun to us though except when it rains.lol Some of use hve schools right in our village unlike some they hve to walk to other village to go to school We learn to be respondsible at a young age For those frm the inland or mountain they hve rivers everwhere and they use it for shower etc. It looks hard to some bt to us its our everyday life. Love from the Pacific Islands(PNG)

I'm speaking from experience I lived in the Rural Gambia for more than 8 years of my life I lived amongst the poorest people in the bush the people had Wells inside their compounds or very close to their compounds the people used to dig Wells with a pulley, rope, and a stick with sharp ends. it doesn't cost much at all it is not expensive to dig a well it just takes hard work. theres absolutely no excuse to be drinking dirty water in Africa in 2020🤔🤔🤔

Another very insightful video.....thanks so much Jasmin. So much we take for granted here in Jamaica......will have to share with my children as they just turn on a tap and decide how hot the water should be. That is why I try not to take anything for granted but to be grateful for the smallest of blessings. Jasmin, Could you explain what a borehole is and after it is purchased, do you have to pay someone for the water on a continuous basis? Where does the water come from? Continue to do your best.....the kids are so humble and don’t complain. The principal for the school is amazing and the other teacher is so self sacrificing. Touched my heart and want to contribute.

The greenery alone is interesting & enchanting. The pond is a necessity for their livelihood but I found it to be a risky affair as there is a chance of there being the possibility of an accidental slip, despite their carefulness. Another thing that I recognised was walking along the street with traffic behind them, which is unsafe, it being a long walk as well. I think if the community can assist with provision of a small car/van as opposed to bicycles for the journey to & from school, for the whole establishment, for communal use, would be advantageous. Obviously, more could be considered in the future in relation to accommodation & other resource. Well done Ama, in bringing this plight of theirs to view.

Amazing video.👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿. Bicycles will be of great help to these kids. I somehow can also relate because I've had my fair share of covering long distances just to get to school. Funny enough, I have attended every kind of school from public-village and then to private school 😂. I attended public school and then my mum had to go further her studies so I went to live with my grandma and attend the village school for a year and half. The long trips to and back from school with my friends were fun because we were much younger and didn't have to worry about lots of chores. When I eventually returned to town, I was invested in playing lots of football which didn't sit well with my dad so he decided to enroll me in a private school at the other end of town very far away from my neighborhood. Meaning he had to get me a bicycle since the school bus didn't come to my neighborhood. The aim was to mess up my football schedule.😂 But little did he know those long bicycle rides were helping me fitness wise😂. I still play football till this day and I make sure I remind him of his failed plan at the least opportunity.😂
