@@lifeinbozemanmt I don't permanently but I have been there lengthy amounts of time for the last 15 years, I also have friends that do live there. My comments are partially my opinion but those opinions of others as well. The influx to areas with more freedom and beauty from areas no longer habitable brings money, though it also brings the visions they want to modify the area into something more corporate, which then bring influence, politics, and eventual disfunction and collapse. Anyway, we all have opinions. I hope yours is right in the long term.

It's difficult when you grew up here seeing the changes, but some are certainly positive as well. I lived in Bozeangeles for 5 years. I couldn’t wait to get back home in Tennessee. It’s so expensive and you put up with 8 months of winter every year. If you are older like me, skiing and snowboarding don’t make you happy. California flight here is off the chain. Businesses can’t keep employees and can’t pay enough to sustain the area. Homeless people everywhere and Libtards from the college are everywhere. I don’t miss it. People are not very friendly here either. Glad I am gone!

Bozeman, MT was an amazing place while I was there. It is VERY expensive there though. A cheap Super 8 motel cost $300.00 per night.

In my neighborhood in Bozeman any house that goes up for sale is snapped up by REIT's and rented out to college students. They have 8 or more people living in a 3 bedroom. Cars parked everywhere, parties, etc. That makes the neighborhood suck for families. Traffic sucks, over 90" of snow to shovel every winter.

The snow is a lot. Especially this last winter! The closer you get to MSU, there’s definitely more rentals. I do think there are a significant number of property owners locally who also rent out, but I am sure that the parties and parking are frustrating. Are you close to msu?

Well, you realtors are doing pretty well. If you want move to Bozeman, be ready for a shock. The politics in the state are not especially liberal. Housing is outrageously expensive. If you bring a camper to live in, be ready to move it off the street every 30 days -- the city ordinance wants to keep the side streets clean and clear of trash. This summer may be hot and dry. Winter may be cold and snowy. Food and gas is expensive. In other words, don't, I repeat, Do NOT expect to be happy here in Gallatin county if you are not filthy rich.

I did two road trips to Montana, the 2nd one just to Billings and then north into Canada. But the 1st one went all the way through into Idaho. One thing I didn't expect I'd fall in love with: Huckleberries! I'd never tasted them before and so I got as much huckleberry-flavored foods as I could while I was there. I was disappointed the 2nd time that huckleberries don't get as far east as Billings. Is Bozeman in the huckleberry zone?

Hi there! Thanks for watching! Really it depends what your interests are, but the whole area here around Bozeman is a great place for your professionals, ski enthusiasts, and people who just love the outdoors and mountains! The hiking is phenomenal.

The dating market here is garbage. You throw a stone and you’ll hit another dude that hikes, fishes, hunts, ice climbs/rock climbs, skis/snowboards ect. Lots of dudes, more then women. The woman have the pick of the litter when it comes to guys like mentioned before. So it’s a buyers market due to how much Bozeman pulls the outdoor people(which are mostly guys). So if you’re a girl and you’re looking for a guy that does stuff, this is the place to come. But all and all it’s a fun place to live. Just hard to find quality people. If you don’t want to live in Bozeman, you won’t last long. Expensive, crowded, no job industry and horrible pay, lack of dating pool and cost of anything in regards to in town activities. The plus to that is most people that live here are here because they want to be.

Nice promotion for Bozeman. Love how you found all the open space, greenery, walking trails, and sunsets. Real estate agents are largely responsible for the high cost of living around here, making it virtually impossible to purchase even a starter home. And let's not minimze the dramatic increase in congestion and traffic, and the decline in healthcare. You forgot to mention how difficult it is to see a doctor, like waiting for months. The Gallatin Valley is being ruined quickly, thanks to promos like this.

There is a lot of change in the area and discussion around the street camping situation. Many folks are displaced by the increased rents, etc. I’m not sure I’d recommend coming here just for that kind of living, but it’s your life!

She is very honest and lined it out pretty well. What applies in the Gallatin Valley applies to the Flathead Valley also. If you are coming here, do your due diligence, its not like the TV show and reality here can be harsh. Never presume that it will change to pacify you because it wont. You have to be tough to live here year round, because all the money in the world isnt going to change 30 below in January, and the days being 8 hours long in December, or a month of smoke in the summer. Come see it first and decide, dont just come on a whim and overbid property just so you can say you have a place here.

I lived in Bozeman and my father John Moss was the author of the 30 year master plan back in 1981. I visit once in awhile and there's no way I would want to live there now. Plus I can not afford to live in Bozeman. Too many wine bars and Californians there

My son who is 1/2 black , 1/2 Latino is there right now for work. He says he feels pretty uneasy there, as there aren’t any black people that reside there and very few Latinos. He says the vibe is very weird for him, I’m working on getting him beck home now. As a mother, I’m worried for his safety.

Lived in Bozeman 17years left in 2020! Average home 1.1 million., rent 2, 500 an up for two bedroom apartment . Low wages no benefits. 8 months of winter. Summers alot of smoke alot! Bozeman Sucks its just like Aspen or Vail or Jackson hole. Don't go.

I was shocked (and honestly pretty insulted) when I saw so many of them yelling at us for not cancelling school when the wind chill got to 45 below zero. That's just our way of life, among many other things we do differently than the rest of the country. It feels like, sometimes these transplants think we sent out invites, asking people to come here and show us how to do it better. Lol. Not the case, at all. We enjoyed our quiet, cold lives lol. Wow … The Bozone has radically changed since the late 70’s when I lived there … it was a tiny modest town but wouldn’t want to live there now … sorry for the the folks whom have lived there generationally.

Bozeman, CDA, Flagstaff, Reno/Carson, Truckee, Grand Junction, Boise, Bend, Colorado Speings, Jackson basically every mountain town in Colorado, Idaho, Montana, and even Wyoming, Arizona and Nevada are all expensive. Looks like everyone in cities had the same idea. And even though these places still remain small, their fast growth and lack of supply and also room to expand, means, you’re looking at $600k starting, $450k if you’re fast and lucky

We move to a small town on the west side of Montana. We really regret it now. The people don’t like outsiders,but they are too cowardly to talk to you about it. Even the police follow you when you go for a walk. There is only so many streets to walk on so they park and wait for you to get near, then they drive away. You can’t seem to get more than a few words with your neighbors and then they want to rush away from me. Again, no one welcomed my wife and l. The churches were closed down when we got here. We were going to try that but since the weather is sooooo cold we are just going to leave this summer of 2024. Montana is good to visit, in summer, but the people are mean and make you feel terrible, so it’s not worth it. Not to us. A lot of low class criminals are moving here too now.

Been here since the 90’s, thankfully we bought a place back then. We struggle to find people to work jobs in the service industry so many businesses don’t have enough workers. You can tell every place you go.

It’s definitely tough for many. And the number of homes in that price range aren’t many. Many purchased around here before these prices and have some equity to work with, or they are multiple income homes. Where are you watching from?

I’ll have zero sympathy when relators start losing their jobs in mass again when we hit another recession. It’s all about the bottom dollar to relators. Quantity vs quality. Hello from Taos Angeles, NM. Smaller mountain towns like Boseman, Bend, Santa Fe and Taos continue to boom as people flee larger cities. It's not great and continues to adversely effect locals and service workers, but hey... change happens. Often for the worse, but not always. Come visit us here in New Mexico !

As Population grows in semi arid climates like Montana, the challenges of providing Water begin to grow as well. The Headwaters of two great big River Systems seem to be straining the availability of the water that recently melts off early and fast. The growing threats of Global Warming seem to dry up water supplies as population increase challenges the supply of water.

@@lifeinbozemanmt We had a Gentleman from the Bozeman Area come over and tell us about the growing problems that Water is posing for the Missouri Watershed. Our problems are growing with the population in the Banana belt. The Bitterrot Valley is a lot more concentrated and offers less room for new arrivals. Stevensville Water Supply costs are pretty high and new developments appear to have difficulty demonstrating where the water for new developments will come from. The nature of Rural areas that fill in with Subdivisions as Climate Migration chases people out of California, have turned our Agricultural area into an unaffordable region that is beginning to resemble LA. I know a number of Real Estate Folks over here as well.....

My wife and I were there in Bozeman last week . It had been 10 years since we had been there and we were shocked how much it has changed. We were shocked by the people living in campers on side streets . We are from NC and couldn't tell the difference between Bozeman and any other housing developments in NC. I'm sure it's a nice place to live but it doesn't feel like Montana at all anymore. Houses are too expensive for the job market there. You would have to be rich to buy a house there now.

It is affecting the other areas around it too, smaller towns are becoming bedroom communities for Bozeman as nobody can afford Bozeman housing prices and that is having the same effect on those towns making them unaffordable for people as well. Our property taxes jumped 27 percent this year alone due to housing price increases. Good if you see your house as an investment but not so good if you see your house as your home.

Belgrade has been a bedroom community to Bozeman for as long as I can remember, and I’ve been here a long time! It has spread, though, for sure. The property taxes are one of the more challenging aspects for many, too.

Sensitive to gunshots, but that is from living near Tucson, Arizona and traveling around Phoenix. Been to Bozeman twice and Big Sky, but that was in the early 2000s, when it was probably a third of what it is now re cost of living. Great video !!! I like the fact it was from someone who has lived there a while. Now I can actually pronounce the river that I rafted down. 😂 not planning to move there, pretty happy in my 350 k house (all mine yay, frick the bank) which will get you nothing there, but I will visit there again. We have plenty of CA transplants here, and Tucson is a mini Phoenix, while Phoenix is a smaller version of LA, with a huge amount of traffic in the latter.

@@lifeinbozemanmt Definitely want try to sway my family to visit again in the dead of a Tucson summer for a road trip to that beautiful summer climate, even if it is for a week. Keep up the great work and the best to you in the real estate listings and sales. BTW winters are awesome here, but are too short. My weekend escapes are to the many sky islands in the vicinity where the elevation will drop the temperatures by 30 degrees. And there is actually snow with possible whiteouts in the sky islands during the winter. Got snow in Tucson too a few times over the last 5 years.

We are full in Townsend stay away. Housing prices have doubled here in the last 2 years. Rentals are over $900 a month for a two bedroom apartment and you have to go to Helena or Bozeman for work.
