Overall this is pretty good. I have lived in Cambodia for seven year and have been with my wife for six years. We have two adult daughters and a 17 year old son. I am from the US and moved here because I travelled here in 2014 and fell in love with the people. Your description of the visa process has an error. You mention that the tourist visa can easily be converted into a longer-term visa. The tourist visa cannot be converted into anything. It is for 30 days and can be extended for and additional 30 days. If you want a retirement or business visa you have to enter the country with an "ordinary" or "e" visa which can be converted for up to a year and renewed annually after that.

One correction to this video. If you are seeking a long-term visa (like business or retirement), do NOT start out with a tourist visa. You should apply for a regular visa type (E-class) which can then be converted to a longer term 6 or 12 month visa. I just met an expat who made this mistake. He had to leave the country (visa run to neighboring country) and start over.

Traffic is horrendous, garbage everywhere, very corrupt-Cambodians suffer the most from this, tourists sometimes have to pay extra crossing over from Lao for e.g-illegal of course but what to do.Dogs are a big problem too but this is so all over SE Asia. Plus side-Cambos.are amongst the frendliest people I have ever come across, mostly honest tho.obviously in PPenh you need to keep your eyes open. In short absolutely worth a visit but for me too disorganized plus the other things I mentioned, prefer Thai.but its certainly easier to get your visa sorted out in Cambo.

Ive visited there a few times over the course of around 15 years. The country really has come a long way economically and infrastructurally in a good way. Like to point out that it is a DUAL CURRENCY country, legally and officially allowing US Dollars to be used. Many, if not all ATMs dispense at a very, very favorable rate. $5 charge to get up to $1000. I do hope the country can stay on track to being friendly, stable, and prosperous for all involved.
