10 years with my Khmer wife...beautiful, funny, warm, cheeky, overall the best woman I have ever met and I am so lucky to be with her. We are best friends and only apart when we are at work. Her family are lovely...and funny, warm, and cheeky!! The women that is. The guys are welcoming and treat me like a brother. And always up for a laugh and a good time. Just returned from a 3 week m/bike road trip in Cambodia. I’ve toured extensively across Asia but first time in Cambodia. Full of beautiful friendly people. Food was great and accommodation very good. People say Cambodia is 20 years behind Thailand - but that’s ok by me.

The interest rate has increased eight times since March of last year, to 5% now. I completely agree. As someone who recently retired, I had very little in retirement funds compared to my portfolio balance over the previous three years, no debt, and approximately 1.2 million in outside retirement accounts. Actually, one can only neglect rather than deny the importance of the invt-advisor. just need to conduct research to identify a reliable one.

The important thing is to manage your money, not how much you save. It still comes down to income vs. expenses whether you work for a living or invest, so sure, you might check into financial consultants for a plan that works for you.

I met a Khmer woman online, and we communicate by video everyday. She is a receptionist at a hotel. She is beautiful, speaks good English and very caring and loving person. I went to Thailand not looking for a wife. I went there to party and chase women. When my future Thai wife walked in and i looked at her , i immediately said to myself i was getting married. She was the most beautiful woman i had ever seen, and still is. Been married 18 years now. We were together for one year before we married. Went thru a lot of toads to find my princess.

But khmer women also have a keen sense of business . They are the ones who buy and sell at the markets. In Angkor period they also worked as body garde for the the khmer kings. Their knoledge of khmer martial arts such as Bokator etc amazing.

My best advice is don't go looking for a gf, just let it happen. If you find a "GF" working at a bar, chances are you will end up sad and broke. I've seen it many times. The same goes for dating apps. Just make friends with the locals and you eventually meet that someone. Thanks for watching the video !!

When i visited Cambodia i found them extremely hostile and belligerent and it was from the whole public, not just a few. Now in their defense i made a mistake and wore my sf hat from Vietnam. But i spent one night and left. As for the women i was shocked that i never saw one good looking woman during my short stay.

That's a very good question, James. Yes, there is trash collection but most cannot afford it. With the average monthly salary of a Khmer person (@$200mo.), there are other obligations such as feeding their family. The trash problem is basically a SE Asian issue. Yes, arranged marriage has been a tradition in Cambodia for centuries and is still practiced today, both in Cambodia and by Cambodians abroad. Traditionally, parents would choose a spouse for their children and work out the arrangement with the other family. The children would know who they were marrying and the wedding date when everything was finalized. Nowadays, that tradition has loosened up a little bit as Cambodia is more westernized. And it doesn’t mean foreigners can’t find a good wife in Cambodia. Cambodian people are very friendly. In fact, Cambodia was named as the friendliest country on the planet for many years in the row.

If I didn’t already have a filipina fiancé, I would be open to a Cambodian woman. I had a Cambodian friend and coworker who was a very good person. Hopefully an English speaking women can be found. Learning Cambodian would be possible, but difficult. My Filipina girlfriend says Cambodians are a lot like Filipinos.

Hi Kelly, I've been living - in PP Cambodia for nearly ten - months now. I find women here a bit - shy (ian), and the language barrier makes things harder also. I noticed the woman you are dating is quite younger than you are. I heard that Khmer woman do not like large - age differences in relationships. Also, the government does not condone younger women marrying older foreign men. A few women here will make eye - contact with me, or say hello, but most do not.

Smile and say hello and they will usually smile back. I think the best way to meet a Khmer woman is to make a lot of Khmer friends, get invited to their festivities. As far as age differences, that may not be entirely true. Many Asian women like men about 15 years older than them. The reasons why is that an older man usually has sown his wild oats and is more established in work and society. That gives the woman stability in the relationship. For many years, especially in arranged marriages, this was traditional. Great questions!!! Thank you for your comment !!!

33 years later and still married to my Khmer wife. Be selective. Don't pretend to be wealthy. Don't break any hearts or destroy young girls' lives. It's not Thailand. When dating Khmer ladies remember that they're taking a bigger risk than you are in the relationship stakes. A lot depends on you.

Saying women are submissive because of tradition is something I hear a lot. It doesn't answer the question. "Tradition" just means "long time". So they're submissive because they've been submissive for a long time? Nonsensical. It shows little understanding. The real reason women are submissive is not so nice to say or hear for Westerners.

That is very true and I agree with you. For me, it is sometimes difficult the way women are submissive here in Cambodia. I want a GF/Wife to be my equal. As I had mentioned in the video, Cambodian women will be submissive but only if they want to be. Trust me, they can be powerful-willed and independent individuals.
