We’re back in Korea after quite a hectic trip in Japan, so over the last week we’ve have had some much-needed ‘chill time’. This is honestly our absolute favorite season in Seoul, because the weather is so sunny and beautiful, (without the dreaded summer humidity) there are so many ways to enjoy time outdoors. We hit up one of the most gorgeous, relaxing cafes we’ve ever been to, and later enjoyed a chill picnic date in Gwacheon City.

What a small world! I got married at 6:30 pm that day at the Floating Islands! That food festival made it difficult for guests to arrive on time though as Banpo Bridge was closed off coming in from the Gangbuk.

I love how the Korean culture does their weddings! That would be a cool concept to talk about in a video. How different culture celebrate their wedding ceremony. Because in the state it’s bad luck to see the bride in her dress before she walks down the isle and we eat after the ceremony were we have the wedding in a church. As well as the father walks down the bride. Does the Korean culture do that?

Your friends were like celebs that day! That was really cool seeing the huge poster on the venue. Totally reminded me of any sports arena you go to and you see the star players plastered all over the outside haha. $18 for a watermelon!!! I knew fruit in Korea was expensive, but dang that is ridiculous. Just bought one from Costco the other day for $4 US lol. And I'm getting arthritis just looking at those detailed designs haha. Looks great and very intricate, but my finger joints hurt now haha. Can't wait for whatever is to come next week!

They all differ, but they’re usually pretty fancy. That being said, the dress code is superrr casual compared to what I’m used to in Canada. Kyuho was more on the dressed up side 😅

Judy Logsdon That’s around the same price we’d pay for a watermelon or cantaloupe in my hometown in Canada. Fresh produce is often very expensive in Korea-especially fruit. Waaaay more expensive than Canada and the U.S in most cases.

Yes we have-bout 2-3 years ago 😊 One thing you really need to consider is the air quality on the day you go...if the air quality index is above 70, it’ll likely just look super smoggy from up there :/

I was stationed at Camp Hovey in Dongdoucheon in 2013-2014! Curious to know if Kyuho was stationed at Camp Casey? The best time I've had in the Army was in beautiful Korea.

Some people do ‘Pyebaek’ right after the wedding ceremony, but we’ve personally noticed fewer and fewer people do it these days. We didn’t, and many of our friends (including the ones at this wedding) who have gotten married over the few years haven’t either. It’s really expensive and quite time-consuming, and we didn’t want to miss out on greeting our guests after the wedding ceremony ^^

Yup~ totally normal here. They usually go down a little in price within a few weeks, but at many of the markets right now the average price seems to be between $15-18.
