I could definitely live in a place like this .When I retire I'm looking to retire in Mexico and I am looking for a mountain town ,I like the cooler weather , I bet you can get a nice place for a very affordable price in this town .I'm glad you are going into these small towns and showing us what some of these small Mexican towns have to offer . Many youtubers always just give us videos of popular expat areas like Puerto Vallarta ,Cancun ,etc and all they show is the resort or people drinking at a club or at the beach .

I didn't see anywhere for sale I'm guessing it's because people don't really move here just families and friends! I'm sure you'd be able to buy a little land and build a place or find somewhere, people just tend to live in the same house forever through the generations so it's different than the cities etc.

Yea what some people do about the slimy texture of nopales is they boil them first before they cook with them. This eliminates some or most of the slime. I prefer them boiled first. Also, “should be vegan” was hilarious Ellis. Poor Alicia was making a great point lol. And, not sure if you knew this, vanilla is originally from Mexico. That’s why it’s everywhere there. I love the humility and generosity of the indigenous people. They’re the soul of Mexico.

In Mexico when dogs bark to each other trough a fence they’re not fighting, they’re mad because they can’t play together. The community lets their pets out so they hang out whit neighbour pets. Also it’s a way to domesticate stray dogs, they learn from domestic dogs.

Been there three times; enjoyed every time.Visited waterfalls and pyramid by bus. Also walked a few kilometers with local guide around the lush countryside. I agree with you re paywall. Our guide took us around these paywalls except one midway, but then we paid for a local indigenous guide-LOL!
