This war could end in one day if Putin decide to withdraw his forces from Ukraine. Ukraine has neither intention to occupy Russian territories, no resources for this, Europe and the US will not supply weapons to Ukraine for waging an aggressive war against Russia. Thus, the only reason for this war is V.V. Putin. World leaders could also stop this war by imposing a *total* economic blockade of Russia. In such conditions it will be impossible to continue hostilities. But politics is a dirty thing. United States are waging an economic war against China, so China will not support US's initiatives regarding Russia. India just reselling Russian oil enjoying money that it would not otherwise receive. Iran is under economic sanctions, it is beneficial to it to cooperate with Russia. Therefore, this war can last for decades. I am not a religious person, but I have to agree with you, it seems that only God can help.

You Russians are so impressive. You are able to network with each other with comfort & mutual support. This is how the world is supposed to run. Rail travel is half the hardship, the other half is having the means to stay at lodging with reasonable cost. I am a survivalist by hobby. If shelling is ongoing, I suggest always be ready to go, always dressed to run outside & keep everything within easy reach. A little backpack is a wonder. You are one gutsy reporter. Good on you, just be careful. It amazes me that people don't go the final step & see NATO gone for good. It must be a human blindness. We just don't know how to expect good news. How refreshing, a religious cleric who knows the root of the issue of war, pawns in a battleground that is meant to destroy, not resolve, any conflict. Of course, the answer is the reverse. Don't comply, lay down your arms, but establish protection first. Admire Putin's response on all levels. He knows that strength is the answer to madness. Does he or anyone else make mistakes? Thanks for the video. This is a very special and asymmetrical war where one side is not allowed to attack the other; yes this is despite the small amount of shelling in border areas on the Russian side. You did mention it's not a contest and it isn't but the difference is very clear and stark. The degree and shameless devastation initiated by Russia will be difficult for Russians to live down for generations. Without an equal impact of war felt on the Russian side, it seems to me that ordinary Russians have been able to ignore it, be apolitical and pretend not many people are being hurt. Part of your conclusion was that Russians experiencing the shelling in the border area have hardened their resolve but I personally believe being unable to understand that they are visiting misery on Ukraine a 100 times worse has and will prolong this war as most don't feel a need to end it, empathize or even think about what is being done in their names. Certainly the Russian destruction in Ukraine has hardened the people of Ukraine as your lawyer guest mentioned, and certainly the world outside Russia has hardened its views on Putin and the Russian people.

Yet many on the Russian side still support Putin's senseless war, brainwashed by propaganda. Let us remember they would not be in fear had Russia, Ukraine's friendly neighbor for centuries and they fought together in WWII and died together too, but they got freedom 30+ years ago and that changed everything. Once you have freedom it is something worth fighting for, as we see even with Russian missiles destroying many, many thousands of buildings in Ukraine, schools, hospitals, apartment high rises by the thousands, power plants, so their children and families freeze, but none of this going on in most of Russia. Go figure if you can why this strange war is happening. Russia had two way trade with most the world, but then Putin choose to invade and kill and destroy now over one trillion dollars of infrastructure and now the very four regions he annexed is totally destroyed and no one can live there. Does this make sense? Sure Belgorod is a staging point for much of Russian aggression, so it will get hit being on the border. This war was not needed, and the western nations across many oceans now are saying to Russia you have enough land, most of Earth's land mass for your small 140 million population, your own people are leaving by the millions, as the do not want to fight their friendly neighbor. Russia's propaganda still affects people like this man, and he may go and fight, but over time Russia just can not keep taking land from one nation after another and call it their land. Can you explain why Russia takes land from their neighbors and because they have about 6,000 nukes, then says, "we will nuke you if", when they try to defend their land, independence for 30+ years and families? This war may go on for many years, as now over 50 western leaning nations see Russia as evil and not part of the civilized world. Maybe one day when and if you have an election where a person can run without being poisoned or pushed out a window or found dead from a suicide event, (many dozens now), but always never questioned. Can anyone speak out against the aggression and killing. NO! So, go fight but try to think what you are fighting for, as Putin does not care about you! The troops that you will be fighting with do not want to fight and many are surrendering in mass and they have many thousands of Russian line troops that for lines to shoot any recruits that try to leave the front and not fight their neighbor that did not invade Russia. It would be good to interview this man if and when he goes to war with his neighbor who just wants to be left alone and live their lives in a democratic nation with free elections that are not rigged. Strange war that no one wanted and now few can find a way out!

I as an outsider (Pakistani Canadian) do not understand why did NATO continue to exist after the collapse of the Soviet Union. After all the Soviet counterpart alliance, the Warsaw Pact, was disbanded in the 1990s. There were three reasons why NATO was created in 1949: 1. To keep Soviet Union out of western Europe 2. To keep Germany "down." that is prevent Germany from becoming a source of war, and 3. To keep the US in, that is involved in Europe. The first two objectives were achieved and were no longer relevant, only the third remained. The US wanted to remain involved as part of its efforts to maintain global hegemony, and has used this alliance for its own objectives (Afganistan, Iraq, and now in destroying Russia and against China). How can NATO be seen as a defensive alliance when it illegally attacked Afghanistan in 2001, later involved in the illegal Iraq occupation, and now has extended itself to the South China sea and East Asia? Is it now protecting Europe from a Chinese invasion? George Kennan, the US diplomat who was the architect of Soviet containment policy, wrote in The New York Times in 1997, just before his death, that extending NATO eastwards is very dangerous and will result in a war with Russia. It would be "the most fateful error of American policy in the entire post-cold-war era."

I truly appreciate your channel and insights you have provided so far. But this video somehow has a propaganda flair to it. Because the difference between RU and UA is that UA people know what they are fighting for. Yes, struggle for Russians near the UA border is and will get more difficult in the future - no matter, if there is more or less shelling on towns like Belgorod. The main aspect is, though, that the regular everyday Ukrainians stand up for the cause of their freedom and speak out against tyranny. Most Russians don't do that. And this fact shows, that they accept what their political leadership is wrongfully doing. Period.

@@mcbaul_ I didn't say it's propaganda, I said it has a propaganda flair to it. And saying something is not propaganda, does not make it less propaganda-ish.

“We used to go to Kharkiv because stuff was cheaper there” but now we destroyed it. Good job russia. 🤦♀️

It was Kharkiv before 2014☝️listen carefully, here nothing to do with Russia in this period, the question is what Ukraine doing on the own east territories after 2014! Ukraine just distracted own east coz people did not support anti Russian policy there.

It used to be called Kharkov and was the second largest city in Soviet Union. Three or four battles from WW2 fought there. Nazi general, against Hitlers wishes to hold territory at all costs, faked a retreat there and ambushed the Soviets so bad they retook it afterwards and moved on to Belgorad in weeks. It bought the Nazis an extra year of fighting. So interesting how military battles keep happening in the same places. I wonder why Ukraine thinks they are stronger than the Nazi army or Napoleons army was? Retaking Crimea is suicide.

Константин, разрешите вопрос, вы россиянин или американец? При просмотре ваших видео есть ощущение что вы освещаете всё это как бы со стороны, не вовлечëнно в ситуацию, + великолепный английский язык. Вы чей человек, наш или их?
