Heya Adam. Ex- Centrelink employee here ...... Australian pension can be received while in Thailand. You must be on it for 2 years in Australia first. If you get a supplement on top of the pension for Disability or carers payments, after 6 weeks of registering as moved overseas, your added supplements drop to the basic pension and your energy/ electricity supplement stops too. Single pensioner is $1047.10 per fortnight and $1,578.60 for couples per fortnight AUD. Then you take out your energy supplement ($60 to $80 per F/N) . But Pension age is 67 (basic rule*) I enjoy your Vlogs and you and your youtuber mates have me convinced to move over . 🤓
@jasonjudkins2056Күн бұрын
It’s a shame, because majority won’t be able to get it, as you have to retire at 67 and then stay in Iz for 2 years and move to Thailand at 69, no time too really enjoy Thailand at that age, the pension would be good but I don’t think I’ll hang out to I’m 69, maybe they will changes the rules before I get to that age, mind you the government will probably get rid of the old age pension before then.
@jabfree4evaКүн бұрын
Only if you were living overseas first and came back within 2 years to collect your pension and go back again. Then your application will be cancelled. That's the rule. Just go as a tourist and come back every 6 months then you weren't "living overseas"
@mickzed6393Күн бұрын
You didn't mention this super important rule. You need to have lived in AUS for at least 35years, after the age of 16, to get the full pension living abroad. It reduces on a sliding scale below 35years. Pretty fair i think.
@Wilko1116 сағат бұрын
You make no mention of the 35 years change in requirements. A friend retired at 67, applied for the age pension and immediately moved to Thailand on it. He didn't have to wait 2 years because he'd lived in Australia all his life, and he was told he could do it, if it was over 35 years. He was originally told by a CLink employee he had to wait 2 years after age pension age, and he was preparing to stay another 2 years, but after further enquires another employee told him he didn't have to. He now lives in Thailand on a full age pension (without supplements) It's important to get the right information about it, as it seems many CLink staff don't know about this rule. There's likely age pensioners staying in Oz for 2 years who don't need to, because they've been given the wrong information by CLink.

Respect for what you have achieved! A tip on how to be a bit safer on the road in your car is to have some tools with you and a spare wheel that actually is safe. Many times on pickups the tire under the car is rotted out and useless. Keep a powerful cordless drill in the car, a small sett of spanners and tools to take of the wheel. Most of the time its a flat tire that is giving you trouble. Maybe also buy one of these kits to plug a tire. I am a car guy and love Chads channel CB Media, but i also like your channel as its high quality filming and you as a person are entertaining. Keep it up! Been following you since the start

Just a heads up Australian pension , you need to apply for it once the time comes after 2 years on it in Australia you can have it overseas, point to note you need to work in Australia for 35 years to get the full pension, any less the amount is deducted from the full amount. Was looking at this last month only 46 but I have the Japanese pension just need to pay 4 more years into it so looked into the conditions of the Australian one

yes as of now you need to go back at 65 (or later) for 2 years, then its portable. If you've only lived in Australia for say 30 of the 35 years then it is pro rated so 30/35 of the total you would receive.
