But if you don’t have the ability to (no car, parents, etc), then 100% go IN on investing in yourself. Take extra classes outside of school, start going to networking events and just listen & meet people older and more experienced than you. I'm autistic and I'm good at masking (and we have to be good at it if we wanna live in this society and get things, like a college degree, a job, etc). Imagine a neurotypical that (by default) should better at socializing than me (even if they're shy or introverted). Of course my social battery is very low and I may have a meltdown after that if it's too intense, but I have some tactics and don't get exposed to people frequently compared to a NT. Everything's about working with and using your strengths and trying too learn nice and new skills to get to the next level in the game.

Life is a game like Basketball... We are the players... Our family and friends are our teammates... We are being observed by the audience which are on the other side... The one guiding us here or guardian angel would be the coach... Dying not on time is like a technical foul or turnover... Dying on the correct time is a big deal...
@somedude42838 Жыл бұрын
on one hand, i agree that putting your time and energy into certain skills will benefit you more than dedicating that time to other skills. like there is very little defense for playing video games, for example, bc its highly unlikely youll ever make money from it. however. i also value my mental health, and drawing is what brings me the most joy. drawing is also something that is traditionally considered a less useful skill. but, if i do everything right (staying on top of my social media accounts, creating a webcomic, improving my skills enough to become a professional, etc) i will be able to make money off of this eventually. i will get commissions. like obv im not stupid and im not going to try to pursue art as my main career in college (the financially stable plan b route is to be a physical therapist) but art isn't something im gonna leave just bc its a less "useful" skill. my point is that if you have a skill or a passion you can see yourself working in and making a living off of, you should absolutely try to pursue it, even if it's considered "low-value." bc at the end of the day, if you market yourself right, you will find an audience and potential clients. if you take the right steps, it's not a matter of "if" but "when."
@somedude42838 Жыл бұрын
so to put this in economics terms, my opportunity cost for pursuing art is large amounts of money. but in return, i gain happiness, fulfillment, and contentment. I personally do not place much value on material things, so I know I'll be happy living in a tiny house or apartment, drawing. if you ascribe value to material possessions (like if you really like fancy cars, name brand clothing and shoes, etc) you will find more value in pursuing something in the medical or technology fields.

Thank you for writing this. It really helped me with deciding what I wanna be in life even if it's arguably early for me to decide that. Nicee, this technique is basically what I used to motivate myself during highschool (thinking of exams/ presentations and stuff as like levels and grades as rewards) However I did want to say that, now that I have a rly good degree and connections and can do literally what I want, my goal is not (and never was I suppose) to "win" the game (or I guess my definition of winning the game is just different from yours lmao?). I con't care about a high salary or being popular or accomplishing something revolutionary. I just wanna do my thing and I am completely fine with being a medium/low income, inconspicuous person, living in a not-New York tiny town with few people; I actually prefer it. I like drawing and making music and the fact that this makes me happy is enough reward in itself to me, doesn't have to earn me money. On a sidenote tho, I got many scholarships simply because I had 'creative' interests as well and often universities (especially the ones like Harvard/Stanford) will prefer you if you show musical or social engagement in addition to grades and technical knowledge. Anyway, you said some really cool things and it was a dope video. Especially what u said about health and therapy is something many still have to understand lol

Choose the most flattering clothes to your body type, skin undertone and face. Do research on what your colour season is. As well as your “essence” (by McJImsey) Personally I’ve started doing that and I’ve noticed that even though I don’t look like a supermodel or something, when I wear clothes that are most flattering to me, people WILL notice and I get a lot of stares and compliments lol. The clothes don’t even have to be revealing but trust me… wear clothes that are most perfect for you will literally make u look like ur GLOWING and your avatar will be upgraded 😌 (also your confidence will skyrocket so that’s a good plus)

Thoughts/Questions: (probably wont get any responses) What about Autistic people? Or people who also have physical disabilities? A study showed that neurotypicals judge an autistic person in 3 seconds and instantly dont like them. Autism means i dont have the same social part of my brain developed, and cant control my face, my tone, or "play" whatever role people want me to. I live under the poverty line(i have to use food money to pay rent), have Ehlers Danlos so my joints hurt, and have to walk to get around, and going outside is a nightmare because of all the noise and people. I am moving somewhere better with less people so less noise, better weather, less junkies, and its on a Venus line for me *yay* (astrocartography). However that wont change how hard it is for me, i can barely even feed myself. Also toxic people are the only ones who want to be around me, to use me, and because im naturally so trusting and guidable because I'm autistic, and go out of my way for people. I dont know how im supposed to get any better when things are so hard already.

I think there’s two types of social isolation, one is negative and the other is self protection. If you’re comfortable being alone then I don’t think it has such negative consequences as someone who is alone for bad reasons and doesn’t have any support. There are toxic people who can’t stand being alone and are always with people yet have bad mental health and are codependent.

My friend shared her mindset: Either be poor and take advantage of the financial benefits or work to be financially independent and beat the system of poverty. I don’t think she ever heard of the 4 Quatrains

1. Women are currency for only men who don't see them as humans first 2. Considering yourself a currency and then trying to get close with a guy might cause major problems in your future 3. Status symbol? Well, don't women consider their men as a status symbol, too?

@@simonesquared babe it's not about do you do it dating but how it might influence your thoughts when dating... But yeah it's kinda pointless to debate about because it probably won't matter unless you heavily associate your identity with it

per 2:00 I always think about what my brother said one time when we were playing Super Mario Bors. I was complaining that Kirby was powerful, and better then most of the other characters. He told me it was all about how you used each one, and that they were actually all technically created equal by the game makers, it's how you use their skills and if you are even aware of them.
