I work 9 to 5. I am also a remote worker and can literally work from anywhere as long as there is an internet connection. My job is pretty chill to boot. Not all 9 to 5 jobs are horrible. My parents owned their own business. They worked always.

Our entire economy is built on "9 to 5" jobs. For your viewers - that entire meal you are eating, the RV you live in, the car you drive were all provided by people working "9 to 5". My wife and I raised a family working 9 to 5 jobs, retired and became 401k millionaires along the way with two houses paid for. All living expenses, two months of rv travel in the winter with travel to Europe in the summer all paid for from the interest off the 401k. That's what a "9 to 5" job does for you !!!!

30 years ago I bought a cabin in the woods and a Stihl chainsaw in North Central Minnesota. I spent about $1000. for the saw, chains and fuel over that time. I'm 75 and retired now but still cutting and hand splitting six cords of red oak every year People ask how I stay in shape and I tell them it's the wood cutting and a two mile brisk walk every other day. $35 a year for heat, and my 026 is still on the job. Merry Christmas.

My first job was working @ a cemetery at 15 years old digging graves. My worst job was night shift at a hospital i did everything there from stripping and waxing floors to laundry and cleaning the delivery room had 3 back to back one night. Worst one i had to run the insinorator burning body parts. One night i get a call to pick up a box to burn. Well they didn't tape the box very good as I am walking this 300lbs lady's legg fell out on the floor freaked me out. I've had alot of jobs in my life and not all good ones but i did them to care for my family. That's what a man does. Now I'd like to die and be with my sweet wife i miss her so much.

Living in the moment is too underrated. Sometimes it takes nearly losing everything for someone to stop and smell the flowers. Don't let an illness be the thing that snaps you into reality. Be happy always, in all ways. Mike, you are a funny funny man. Your cooking show always makes me laugh, even after fighting with the hubby. Don't lose your humor, stay silly all the time. Life is too short to be grumpy. I should know, I've had cancer on and off for 32 years. What's kept me going? My son and my wanting to be here for my future grandchildren. What's kept me alive this long? Laughter, plain and simple. Peace ✌️

Yea, I've tried so much to avoid the 8/9-5 job (mostly cuz I can't handle it mentally or physically anymore w/my diabetes) but I finally got a part-time seasonal job for now. I have been doing delivery work for years, partly due to me hating those types of jobs, but also just haven't been able to find any. I have an entrepreneurial spirit but the actuality of having your own business takes a lot, including marketing and social networking which I just don't have the personality for, I'm not charming, not able to win people over easily. I'm going to school for my degree in behavioral science cuz I can no longer take the risk of trying to live my dream and just being broke the whole time, I have to change things, too many things keep going wrong trying to get into van life, maybe one day, but I gotta be realistic at this point in my situation.

9-5 might be Stupid That's the way a fool thinks, that's why you should get A job with benefits or go into the military So when you do retire you have Retirement Pensions,401K, You don't get that if you don't work and pay the dues, That money comes in handy when it's time to retire and take it easy, I worked 9-5 jobs my entire life till I retired and now I got a nice pension and retirement, because of a 9 to 5 I am set for the rest of my life, Doing the grind and yes I've had other jobs along the way While still having a 9-5 job, Now for the rest of my life I can take it easy and do what I wanna do, And I don't have to worry about working or money, And I'm only 50 years old, and hope to live another 30/40 years,And money coming in every month for the rest of my life, For doing a 9-5 job,

Your comment fits mike to the T., We've been living in a falling time from the beginning, Don't try to make excuses for not doing what's right, By finding the best job you can, For when you do get older, You won't have to worry about money, And you can have a retirement and a pension and a 401K, To fall back on, Living in a van has become the life for many people, And you will be living day by day for that choice, Nothing else if you're young enough go in the military,

Vanlife/RV life isn't retirement, sometimes it's really hard. Your plan works most of the time, but there's a lot that can go wrong that you can't control, like health problems, company losing your investments, immediate family member getting sick and needs constant care, the love of your life dying and you lose the purpose in life. Best thing to do is get to know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and savior, and following his teachings by reading the Bible, and the rest will kind of take care of itself.

Now onbody will hire you even for 5 an hour driving a fork lift, cause they know you go back if they called. Then you find what really want to do in life. You learn it work hard at it make 10 times the money but it requires you to live in an rv with your wife an dogs. Kids are grown. You pray to God and thank him every day that he got you out of that job you hated. Now you work 10 21 or 27 days in a row 12 to 14 hrs a day but you only work 6 to 8 mounts a year.

I believe the reason rich people become unhappy is that they have accomplished the only goal they have set for themselves. Goals give us meaning in life, a reason to get up and out of bed. Without something to look forward to our current situation just becomes normal to us and nothing special... For example...If you live in paradise, eventually paradise is just "normal" and we forget what it was like to not live in paradise.
