The LIF community is very exploitable, and I am sure you are well aware of that. At its peak there were thousands of active players who played literally all day long. But the abandonment of the developers and the long passage of time has caused many to forget about it or simply feel lazy to play again. As a veteran player, I know of many players who would come back if the game was given life and what it deserves. What you are doing is at least a first step in the right direction after many years. Introducing new content and new world events is a great step. But you should not forget the mechanics, graphics engine and the hundreds of bugs that could be reworked and improve the gameplay experience. Making the map smaller is the best thing that could be done from the beginning, that will make more interaction between players and it will not seem that you live isolated from society. Another thing to take into account is the monetization, I understand that maintaining the servers and the team of developers is expensive, but keep in mind that 95% of the community already paid their 20 dollars some time ago to buy the game. I'm not saying that you put it for free, far from it, I think that if you do things right is a game that deserves to be paid without a doubt. But keep in mind that we have suffered a lot, many promises that have come to nothing, long years of waiting, many wipes for nothing. You should be looking for at the beginning, to bring back the veteran players. Because you are not going to attract totally new players from the beginning. That's like a chain. Once the game revives with the players who know the game best and the in-game community is solid and consistent again, the new players will come on their own. The best way to monetize this game is not a monthly subscription. Hundreds of users have already told you this. The best way was the way it was a few years ago. The game cost X money in one payment on Steam for example and then have an ingame store to buy boosters, skins and more characters. Something new could be a Season Pass as it is now fashionable in many games that you can buy separately and receive rewards as you advance in level in that pass. I have seen that you have said that putting it F2P and putting premiun advantages will make the game a little unbalanced no matter how much you try to balance the premiuns weapons and armor against F2P. But this game is not like that, I know many players that with a simple shovel and naked would destroy a player with a tier 3 and weapons of maximum quality. Having said all this, I'm just looking to give my opinion and what I'm sure is also that of the majority of players who have invested hundreds of hours in the game. I hope you continue on the right path and know how to give life to this game that undoubtedly has and has always had a great potential that have not known how to take advantage of it.

Wow, thank you for that in-depth feedback! A lot of what you mentioned is exactly what we're doing, or aiming to do. Bringing back the veteran players is a huge focus for us, and we're doing our best to really engage with them (as they return). Currently, our community hub is our Discord server, so if you, or anyone who reads this, is not there, I'd urge you to join that server and make your voices heard. In terms of what we're fixing, bugs, mechanics, and balance re-work have been our main focus since we got the game late last year (at this point, I've lost count of all the bugs that we've fixed). Right now, while we're still majorly focused on bug fixes, we're also starting up with the new features, this map and the upgraded PvP being the first of many. Since you mentioned the game's engine, I'll give a quick answer on that too. For now, we're not upgrading the engine as that would need a close-to if not total, game rewrite. That said, this is not off the table. Once the game (as it is) is much more stable, all the major bugs are gone, and, if this is a demand from the community, we'd be happy to look into this seriously and see what can be done. I don't want to look like I'm avoiding the issue of subscription, so I'll leave a note about it here. As things stand, we're sticking with the subscription model, however, I am looking to get more information on the reason for this decision as there is a lot more to it. That said, we did announce that we are planning a F2P variant for the future, however, that is for the far (far) future!

This game was great. I absolutely hate pvp. Ya, I know, you're thinking it's a pvp game. But I loved the building, farming, animal husbandry, and even the working on quality in something as simple as the trees you grow. Absolutely the best game I have ever played with open world building. I played from halfway through alpha until they shut down the servers. I saw the frustration of people doing something as simple as riding across the map. I think the subscription is a must to pay the people fixing bugs and dealing with issues. No one wants to work for free. But the 20 bucks it is now is way to high. Also are you going to actually fix the bigs. I do hope there will be an area for those who want to experience the building, crafting, and farming side without the endless ganking. I mean, there is nothing more frustrating than losing everything and the horse rode in on when you were doing was chopping a tree.

Long time veteran of this game, easily 10k+ hours in the MMO. We have tons of people who would come back if the subscription was lowered. You're charging AAA title rates for a game built on an ancient engine. Lower the subscription to something more reasonable and people will come back. $22.50 CAD a month for LIF? Thats insane. Cut that rate in half and we'll talk.

don´t forget about Solo-Players. (How?) Can they play a green zone game? Building a nice home and come to a small wealth by collecting herbs, farming grain or mining some ore? +1 for the Yeomanry. I just like puttering around in a virtual shop/farm/smithy, and like the op I'm comfortable paying for that. I don't want all my work and goods to be the property of some "lord". Green zones don't need to be PvP free, just keep the bandits and criminals out. Maybe a yellow zone with higher quality but less security.

too bad solo can play on red zones theyre only limited on greenzones since solos cant make a guild except if you pay 2 accounts for it. or you can just look for a guild with the same interest as you and make a town/village. would be an awesome roleplay :D

We've not forgotten about the solo players! I know that right now, we've been focusing mainly on PvP, but that's really just the first step for us (actually it was the second, as the first was a lot of bug fixes!). Lately, the solo players have been reaching out to us quite a bit, so we're taking in all the suggestions and requests and looking into what we can do. So, if you've got any suggestions (and I can see that bluespruce and sus_usu have written some), please do let us know what they are!

If you make warehouses lootable after a specific amount of damage and destruction of undefended guild monuments possible, and get rid of trade post storage, it would cut down on the number of bandit guilds by a lot. Then actually force people into larger scale combat that matters, instead of constantly having to deal with bandits that log on, kill some people, run away, then log on another character somewhere else if they meet resistance.

The content and mechanics of this game are solid and whether you are a solo player, a small or a large group... you really have a lot to do and discover in this game. PVE is not so grindy and you don't feel like you're wasting your time. The PVP is amazing and you can really enjoy the game at any time you want (like any other game), you are not stuck behind some meaningless mechanics and rules. Being a successful MMO with a very large community that really gives life to this game... and as I see that most players focus their comments and opinions most on how big the subscription is... I recommend to make this game with a monthly subscription of at least 100 dollars + add pay cosmetics. And in time to reduce the price to let the poor in as well. Because the main problem of this game was and is, the price.

Make totally PVP the new map. It reduces Godenland to a green zone of 9 servers by 9 provinces (9x9) and totally changed to PVE. Get rid of regional articles and other manufacturing restrictions on PVE, and in the end, you will get all of us happy. Normally, I do not usually pay any subscription of more than 9.99$ for my principles (I only played EVE when they gave more than 40% discount), but if you take my suggestion seriously I would not mind paying 100% more of that price, only for you I would make an exception. Thanks and continue with the good work.

@longtalegames To make 100 quality materials you have to use 100quality tools which made of vostancus steel. Guilds use to have them in single exemplar. If by repairing you have chance to brake it. It is no longer 100 quality tool. Making vostancus steel is hard enough. So everything you trying to implement is good. But repairing tools is questionable. However it is my personal opinion. What would I really change is that no one really uses medium and large repair kits. As they expensive in production.
