She reminds me of my daughter. Bright, talented, fragile. The art of music keeps my daughter balanced. I cried, for the hardships of life and a socially constructed world that may understand but never fully and unconditionally accept beautiful people like them.

I'm not even 'religious' but that was an amazingly fresh take on a more fallible, and therefore relatable, creator. What a unique mind.

Me too, you could sense a shift in the room when she first said god, but they quickly realized oh ok lol. It was a very refreshing take on the subject, one I def needed to hear

Her god feels human because it's created by a human. Human made gods are called idols and they have no power whatsoever.

Incredibly candid and healing to hear Finck's creative process. We could all relate to her journey with herself and 'God.' I would like very much to put her experience to good use for myself, to heal from what we call life on this tiny planet we call Earth. Thank you so much for this outstanding video. Happy New year 2024 everyone!

when I was about 20 and trying to decide what kind of creative work I was going to choose for my career (was leaning heavily towards music), I had a moment where I was going to have to choose between God and Music and which one would I choose? I chose God and all my inspiration for music vanished instantly. Shortly after, not regretting my decision but still feeling down about it, I got this overwhelming feeling that the most creative thing I could spend my life doing was to raise and care for my own family and that all my creative needs and desires would be met and fulfilled by raising kids and staying faithful to my wife. 20 years and five kids later and He has not disappointed.

Hi Christian, Thanks for sharing your powerful story. However wonderful your choice was, there is a problem with it. Humans are fallible, and as such only God can be the primary source to live for. People can unexpectedly lose their spouse or family. Only God is infallible and forever. May God bless you and your beautiful family!

Art has the power to shape your world and many other things. I admire it because it often employs the concept of a higher power, presenting God as the solution. I agree that it’s the easiest way, quite amusing, actually!

Straight up beautifully done. As an Orthodox Jew, my perspective is that we all need to seek our unique relationship with God, and they the challenges we face are part of exploring and experiencing that relationship. I've never considered this particular lens to view Torah, but I find it profoundly moving.

Hi Isaac, Remember Yahweh created humans in his own image. Not the other way around as Liana does here. The God who created the stars and wrote DNA is a God who knows exactly what he's doing. You should consider this artist's drawings as the pagans of old who created gods with their own hands.

This person was super lucky to live in the times when she could make her living doing line drawn cartoons. In today’s world her only chance would be to make Instagram and tiktok and even then I’m sure her stuff would be absolutely lost in the sea of content.

Brilliant, when I learned about the Flood my immediate thought was that God had realised that he made a mistake creating man. Modern astrophysicists say that the universe began from nothing, a void. Keep going.

I think I need a god like yours. Also, I have problems and I often don't know how to be. Maybe drawing can help me solve some of those problems. Also also, Buddhism likes to talk a lot about enlightenment, but what about Siddhartha Gautama's stumbles, fears, uncertainties, and failures on the path to that state? If I'm ever ready to draw something big, that will be it.
@glennsimonsen84216 ай бұрын
You're right because Siddhartha was a human. As such, he could only provide human wisdom. Jesus Christ stands alone as the only God who becomes a human and is subsequently murdered by humanity.

Thinking about her message, I wonder if she's aware that in reworking Genesis she creates a god IN HER OWN IMAGE; one that is awkward, self-conscious and prone to error like herself? This is exactly the opposite of the God of the Torah who creates human beings IN HIS OWN IMAGE, and declares his creation to be good. There's a well known theme in the Hebrew Bible when the people turn away from Yahweh in favor of creating gods more to their own preferences and liking. In the desert they forge a calf out of bronze, and later they turn to Moloch, Baal, and other gods, some of which demanded the sacrifice of their own children. It never ends well when they adopt gods made by their own hands. I'm not sure if Liana Finck is cognizant of this or not. ??

“I accepted to come to this meeting to have a sober and mature conversation. I’m not in any way signing up to any discussion that is alarmist. There is no science out there, or no scenario out there, that says that the phase-out of fossil fuel is what’s going to achieve 1.5C.” - Sultan Al Jaber, President of COP 28, also CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company Seems more and more likely, scenario SSP5-8.5 of the IPCC assessment may come to fruition (or at least the higher end of the spectrum). I say enjoy what you can, while you still can; pity the generations to come.
