If you don’t make the choices to help Kate early on, you can still save her, but a couple more questions are added with more difficult answers you only learn by reading and remembering everything. Many first time players lose her and get a different set of scenes going forward. Well done.

Snoop around as much as possible, guys! Characters won’t pay attention to you, but you’ll learn key information for the future. This is the type of game where it’s HIGHLY encouraged to observe your environment! As for copyright music… Yes, it’s a pretty big part of the game. If possible, listen to it on your end, but mute it in-post. Most of us already know these songs, so it’s not a big deal if we don’t hear them, but you’ll totally miss out. It would be like watching Guardians of the Galaxy without 80s songs - it just won’t feel the same.

It’s good to examine all the items in a room, if the character finds you annoying you can always rewind. If you guys didn’t find the the card from Kate’s father, you could have picked the wrong answer.

2:23:34 Okay, so here’s the thing about the side stuff: a lot of it DOES have small effects on the story. Remember you answering about Kate’s dad? If you hadn’t looked around, you might not have picked the right answer. I think her sisters also works, but if you said mother, or brothers (she doesn’t have brothers) then you make it worse. Same with checking out the door slate multiple times to erase the stuff people wrote, that dialogue option ONLY existed at all because you did it. There’s actually other entire lines of support you didn’t see because you didn’t discover everything, but you found the BIG stuff. That’s all side stuff. Some of it is nothing, yes. But a lot of it gives you context for the main story, or help in dialogue later. It’s a noir story, so the characters are a part of the structure of the story. Max is your hard boiled detective (think about all her self-narration, every good film noir story has the narrator describing their thoughts constantly), Chloe is your femme fatale, Rachel is the missing McGuffin that got the FF involved, you have multiple suspects, and even side cases. You need to understand the characters through some of that side stuff. Edit: on that subject, you might consider watching the movie “Brick” on your other channel. This game has some…similarities to Brick, but with time travel added.

I really love your LiS videos, but I agree with otherse. I wish you could listen to the music as well (even if only just for you). In my opinion, it has a big impact to a lot of scenes. I remember playing this game for the first time and it left me emotionally drained in a way no game had done to me previously.

Definitely recommend turning on the music for yourselves, and then muting the game capture in post. It probably isn't your style of music but it really adds to the experience and the immersion of the game itself. Some of the songs on the soundtrack are still in my music rotation today because the scene it's paired with had such a profound impact on me 10 years ago. It's also cutting out the score, that train sequence is much less intense without the music

You guys are doing good here. Usually people aren’t able to save Kate on their first play. It can be harder to save her if you don’t step in and tell her to wait to go to the police so you guys made it much easier on yourselves. And it was important to look at things in her room. Luckily you guys did and you were able to pick the correct options. It is important to read some things because a lot of what seems unimportant is important later.

I've been waiting so patiently, yay!! So some of the extra stuff seems tedious but EVERY little decision you make does affect the outcome and give you clues as to the bigger picture. No matter how small and insignificant it may seem. Just watching you all play versus when I played it is interesting seeing all the stuff I did that others pass by lol One example was you didn't do any of the stuff in the parking lot before going into the diner. Or like in Part 1 you could have flown a drone around, hence the Science Room conversation in this one. Everything connects so if you pass by stuff it could make you confused during conversations down the line. It's a game filled with mystery but also atmosphere so you can absorb it all. Spoiler for those who haven't played this chapter yet: Sadly during my 1st play-through of the game, I wasn't able to save her. Because I picked 1 wrong answer, specifically the family member option as you said. I was bawling.

if you hadn't snooped, you wouldn't have known about Kate's dad, which helped to save her in the end. please snoop as much as possible; it makes a *huge* difference in the choices you're able to make and the conversations you're able to have. I really have to add my voice to the many people who've already said it: The music is much more than just a beautiful listening experience in this game, it directs and cues the player into certain on-going situations and is soooo important ... You're truly only getting half the experience without it and its a real shame as its another essential ingredient that influences your reactions ... Often times, you'll watch a movie that has a scene that depicts a situation visually that, on its own, can bring you to tears as you watch it ... Music of all types playing through these scenes can build these feelings up ahead of time ... It can stir and amplify an audiences emotions to greater heights than visuals alone, in fact the music can evoke the emotional responses for visuals that the movies choose not to show as well ... Unfortunately right now, the LACK of music is affecting the way you play and your overall ''roller-coaster ride of an experience' through the game is suffering ... The awkward silences are just that: Awkward ...So it's no wonder you're laughing at them ... This is admittedly, one of the games major flaws when it comes to 'Game Streaming': I do understand that they need to protect their IP's, and it is nice that they even thought to included a 'Streamer Mode' option to protect content creators from getting strikes left and right, but it's also a shame that there's not a better option than straight up just 'switching all game music off' ... The Life Is Strange series (The other games included) have several 'Chill / Zen' scenes dotted through-out their stories where everything just kind of stops ... The music plays and for a while, It looks like you're watching a cut scene only, you gradually realize that its actually just a looping collection of ambiance ... A moment where you can catch your breath, make a cuppa tea, mull things over and just enjoy the music / visuals ... These moments only progress when the player 'DOES SOMETHING' ... Without the music it can become easy to just not realize that what you're watching ISN'T a cut scene and you CAN actually move on ... Like where you gave Max an extra long lay in ... I think that editing the music out entirely without touching the dialogue would be far too much of an undertaking, but going forward, I really do believe that the viewers, would not fault you at all for COMPLETELY muting the game audio on the video to allow yourselves the opportunity to be able to hear the music without the risk of copyright strikes ... Anyone watching these video's really should have already played these games so it shouldn't be any big sacrifice to us, but you owe yourselves the full experience, otherwise ... What's the point? Sure, it might make for an unusual gaming play-through video, but your commentary and the games subtitles are all we really need to follow whats going on. With all that said, I'm really enjoying your play-through so far, I really appreciate you guys trying out these new 'outside the box' titles, you're always good for entertaining and interesting commentary as well as learning new 'lessons', keep it up ... The set-up to the 'bottle shooting range' is a bit tedious, but watching the scene play out and the many options available are entertaining, (not specifying) including a funny shooting option that you missed ... And congratulations on saving Kate.

About the side stuff: While you don't have to inspect everything to finish the game, or even to understand the main story, it's there to flesh out the world. It lets you hear more of Max's inner dialogue to get to know her a bit better, and makes the world feel a bit more "real".

I played this game when it came out in 2015 and it’s still one of my favorites today. It’s so fun watching you guys experience it all for the first time. Just soak in the details and enjoy the ride :) Also, I know you can’t listen to the soundtrack when playing, but I highly recommend watching videos of the scenes with the music. The music in this game is one of the best in my opinion. Especially in Episode 1 and 2.

Totally! I see Chloe get a lot of hate and yeah maybe it’s kinda deserved. She is not always the greatest friend. It I do think her actions make sense to her character. Prior to this she lost her Dad, then right afterwards she lost Max, and the. Rachel. Here she finally got Max back and she’s worried she’ll lose her again like she’s lost so many in her life. Remember to her Max left her and made new friends in Seattle and stopped contacting her. Now it’s like she’s making another friend and Chloe is worried she’ll choose this friend over her too. She’s being aggressive but it comes from a place of hurt.

I'm not sure if anyone told you guys ahead of time, but a lot of the Life Is Strange games are really about settling into the world and the atmosphere and taking your time with what's available to you. You guys are at a bit of a disadvantage because you can't enjoy the music due to copyright bs, but the music also ties in with the general mood of the game. It's very indie, very lo-fi, very chill and slow paced. If you're used to fast-paced games and non-stop progression, it might feel like things aren't moving fast enough. Please just know that this is intentional, and that the devs wanted players to notice little things here and there and not rush. I hope you can find your own way of enjoying the pace of the game for what it is and take your time reflecting on what you find. Love you guys. :[
