I had never thought about it that way, although didn't Louis from the past end up altering Gu's future so that there would never be a risk that Gu, as an adult, would want to ruin Louis' future? The theory would make sense if Louis from the past had left things as they happened to his future self.

Re: Carl looking sort of like the characters from Blue Sky's Robots: William Joyce, the writer/illustrator who made the original "A Day With Wilbur Robinson" book, was also a production designer for Robots. You can see his general robot/retro-future aesthetic across both films. He also created Rolie Polie Olie, and Carl's spindly limbs are very much like the robots there. He also has a tendency to make buildings and objects have whimsical faces, hence the Robinson abode.

There is actually a deleted scene that I wish Disney kept in the movie, where in the end instead of it being Lewis who wakes up young Goob in the baseball match, he takes Bowler Hat Guy to the past with him and he is the one that wakes him. I like the scene because it felt like they gave the power and choice to Mike to make that change for himself, instead of it being made for him like everything else was for so long. "I didn't need to destroy your destiny after all. All I had to do was - wake myself up! I... really didn't think this through. Thank you, Lewis."
@antonkuchinskiy174019 сағат бұрын
woooooow i wish they did that!

While that line is beautiful, Lewis waking him up himself saved Mike for a miserable future where he's constantly left alone in line by circumstances.
@anothercarttogo18195 сағат бұрын
@@Tooba-K123 Yeah, the scene that they went with was still nice, so I'm not saying they inherently took anything away from the movie by having Lewis go back to the field to wake him up. I just like the notion of Mike doing it himself and thought it would've been neat if they kept it.

My thoughts: with the dad asking about sports, and the scene later where Goob is freaking out in an interview with them over missing the catch... why didn't he get the interview with them first?
