They hadn't enjoyed LIS1 so they of course were looking for LIS2 to be more fast paced off jump and unfortunately it isn't so yep hence why I mentioned it's a good game but not for everyone. They missed the boat on it so it happens. My point about enjoying it is coz I think they would've need to have jumped on it during the era when it came out like when Berleezy got to play it but once they weren't invested in the lore it was obviously gonna be an uphill battle to get stuck in. Honestly this is coming from a Life is Strange fan, RDC probably wouldn't be interested in the type of gameplay that the game focuses on as it is more of an investigative story where something with more action like Batman Telltale. While the 2nd game is more action pact than the first, I'll openly admit that it's pretty easy to get distracted and it does have a lot of slow parts so unless your interested in the story, characters, and powers then it'll definitely feel like a slow ride.

They ranked the first one at 5.5/10, similar to the first one as they were bored in the first half but around Chapter 2 or 3 they got invested the 2nd game is the same. If you feel the urge to play an entire game, of course you’re going to enjoy it because you could even muster up the energy to do so. But the point is that it’s “ass” cause they literally could not play the rest of it. I’m a Monster Hunter fan, but I hate when other people who play Monster Hunter tell people to play 50 hours before judging the game. Like no? That’s horrible and it defeats the entire purpose. I guarantee you everyone who got into Monster Hunter and Elden Ring got into it within the first 30 minutes-1 hour. If these boys couldn’t get into it within 2 HOURS, what makes you think they ever will? Mark has called most indie games trash in the past and now they predominantly play those games.

Leland saying the game has no story is crazy. i feel like the slow build up adds a lot of like depth to the relationship between sean and his brother and expand on their personalities when they’re around each other when they’re dad isn’t around. you can see how much daniel really does rely on sean and not just bc he’s his older brother. and i don’t want to say any spoilers just in case they’re are ppl who haven’t seen the whole game and also in case they do decide to play it.. the story picks up almost immediately after the power gets revealed, they’re are still slow paced moments but it’s important to the world building of the game to get you to understand the situation tht you’re in. now i don’t think it’s “better” then LIS1, if anything i’d probably say tht i only have specific characters tht i enjoyed more then certain characters from the first game, and i do like the idea tht there isn’t really a “big bad” or overarching villain in the story. it’s literally sean and daniel vs the world and i like it. you just really have to be locked in to get it i guess.

Walking Dead is in a whole zombie apocalypse and Detroit is an android uprising game. They are story games but it's much easier to make those entertaining than it is to make normal everyday school life, with rewind powers entertaining. I think Mark and Lee didn't allow themselves to invest in any of the characters by not talking to a single side character, doing any sort of exploration, and extremely distracted with talking to each other.

Look at all the other story games they played besides Life is Strange and the Quarry. They rock with story games heavy, they even put the Walking Dead telltale series and Detroit Become Human as S Tier games next to the likes of Mario Kart, Gang Beasts, and other games they think are top tier. It’s just that not everybody is gonna be drawn to every type of story. Some stories have VERY different vibes than others

It’s just I think a lot of people feel that if you consistently promise something and don’t deliver again and again bc you are trying to move on to bigger things well it annoys the fans and the same support and hype you need from us to make y’all grow in popularity to get to where y’all want to be slowly dies. I get where you coming from. Here's the thing though, they took responsibility for it and explained why the 7 days of rdc didn't work out this time. What else can they do? They have their toes dipped in (from what we know) all of their dreams right now. The streaming is, what Mark called, a getaway. Something fun to do. The solution to this issue is they just need to not promise stuff. Because I think they are trying to steer clear of the streaming being anything other than what it is; a fun time with the Community.

Been telling people that Life is Strange 2 is boring af. The first 1 hour of episode 1 is the most interesting and fun part of the game then it's practically downhill from there. Finishing the game felt like a chore. The stakes in true colors are less than in LIS 2 but true colors is more fun to play. And I 100% agree that the forest section was horrible. It felt like a walking simulator from then until the end.
