This plot is phenomenal and so is the acting. By I’m curious as to what the difference is between Dez’s book and Mark’s, outside of what’s already been stated at the end. Cause it looks as if Dez’s book can create as well. He made a sword right out the gate against Mark. I guess the Destruction book can make weapons only as well as instantaneous destruction… But what’s to stop a Creation book from being able to do the same, and essentially become to most busted thing ever, other then one’s own personal mastery of the book. We’ll just have to wait and see.

THEORY ON THE BOOKS AND HOW THEY WORK I think the 3 types are creation, destruction, and restoration (the one Leland and maybe Jennifer has since Desmond was uninjured after meeting up with Leland, meaning he was probably healed). Mark has the destruction book and found a way to create with it. Des has a creation book, which explains his ability to create objects like swords and turrets. Although if Desmond can replicate the same explosion that killed Helen with a creation book, then maybe creation and destruction books aren’t completely separate. Especially since Mark’s book speaks to him when another creation/destruction book is close by. Perhaps the books operate similar to how alchemy works in Fullmetal Alchemist: analysis (imagine, draw what you want), deconstruction (destruction), reconstruction (creation/restoration). Restoration books seemingly need an existing object, which is why Jennifer and Leland seem to only be able to heal, much like the reconstruction process in alchemy. Destruction books act similarly to the deconstruction phase of Alchemy, which is how Scar fought and killed people. Creation books seem to act like a philosopher’s stone to create things out of nothing, or perhaps just reconstructs matter in the air. Mark’s secret is he found out how to create things with a destruction book, as well as restore as we see with their home base. Maybe his book isn’t a destruction book, or he “creates” by destroying and restoring. This can be possible since when he attacks Desmond, he destroyed the baddie as his sword was created(and the baddie could’ve been restored from something else). Another idea is, like the philosopher’s stone, he needed human lives to create. When he makes his pistol, he stabs Desmond with his pen before drawing the gun, likely with his blood. But then that would call into question how Desmond’s book works. Is it also a book like Mark’s that started as a destruction book and became a creation book and he’s just unaware? And why didn’t Mark just heal his arm if he knows how to restore? Or just create himself a new arm? Why can’t creation books heal in the same way restore books can, despite seemingly being more powerful? If Mark can create, why does he need Desmond’s creation book? Are the books 2 halves of one whole? That would explain why Mark can create with a destruction book, it’s borrowing power from the other half. But only a fraction, which is why Desmond can create whole turrets and Mark only create pistols and nonviolent NPCS. Mark needs Des’ book to possibly bring Helen back to life. But then Dylan has a destruction book… And the 2 restore books… Mark probably needs one of each, hence his dependency on Jennifer, she’s part of the bigger plan. Mark is Aizen. Or Griffith and he’s about to sacrifice everyone else’s life to revive Helen. Also if Des can draw a car blowing up, no Diddy, why can’t Mark just draw Des and Leland having a heart attack on some Kira timing?
