We're faced with a rather unexpected rescue at sea unlike anything we've done before, and we continue to explore the incomparable Marquesas Islands. It had been well over a month since we left Mexico, and the time had absolutely flown by. We knew that this moment would come, but we couldn't believe it was already here...the time to say goodbye to one of our beloved crew members. After spending weeks at sea together, the bonds we formed on our Pacific Crossing were so intense. Our life as a little family of 5 had felt so natural and easy, and now that one of us has to go back to "real life" it feels like the end of a very special chapter on Delos. But the only constant in the life of a sailor is change, and we continue on to find one of our favorite anchorages. We find a little beach shack that we turn into a hair salon, and we take full advantage of the unlimited coconut supply.

Hear, hear, I've been with them shorter than you, precisely since Sierra's birth, but I watched most of the old episodes, and boy do I love them, I've also had the pleasure of receiving a very nice e-mail from Brian, so I wish them fair winds and following seas for many years to come ;)

You guys are a true inspiration for me. 5 years ago I stumbled on your channel and instantly thought I want to know what it would be like to sail to remote locations by boat. I quickly learned how to crew on someone's boat and began a new adventure. I bought a one way ticket to Tahiti and sailed around the South Pacific crewing on a 40ft catamaran gaining 2500 nm and even made history by being the first African American to set foot on an island, Palmerston Cook Islands ever. I owe this all to you. Watching you now sail in the same place brings me so much joy. Thank you for sharing your life with us. Continue to inspire and maybe we'll meet each other one day.

Stuck in a windpark substation in the middle of North Sea, with some time without work, I was watching this fabulous episode in the right setting. The problem is that goodbyes always make me cry. Oops, let me look away before someone notices. It is surely a sad moment to see the "Sea Dog" fly away. I envy his good mood and multiple abilities. What a man! Delos seems to be able to summon the best in each of her crew member. Magic boat!

Seeing Delos roll at anchor by swell from beside I thought you might be interested in a very easy way to turn every boat at anchor or buoy into the wave, so the rolling stops immediately and without any force. If you already know it, take it as a good advice to all of your followers: Tie a line to your anchor chain right in front of your bow. Bring it along the outside of your boat very loosely to a cleat at the stern of your boat. Then let more anchor chain go down. Your boat will turn by it self and you can stop it in any position you want. The boat lies in a very stabil triangle from chain and line. I often turned my boat that way to get fresh wind from behind to cool my boat and have a much cooler cockpit or to turne the cockpit into the shadow. To turn it back, just haul in chain by anchorspill.

It's really something following your travels, but what i find to be the most amazing is Sierra's childhood. Maybe others have grown up on the open sea but the numbers must be very low. She starts her morning going for a mile swim with her dad. Wish i could live long enough to see her own sailing vlog as an adult. Unique.

A fantastic place you have sailed to. Now with 13 years of sailing and experience in beautiful places, you know when you've reached a top 10 place. You also know that when you sail from there, it will not be a top 10 place. Aren't you tempted to stay then? At least longer than usual. Or do you feel compelled to sail further to get content for your videos? Hannah was missing in this video, because she's still part of the crew right? It felt like she wasn't with you? But she was, right? Sad that Connors left the boat, a super guy. Looking forward to the next video. 👍😎⛵️⛵️🍷🍾❤️💥

Btw, you can hold the 🐢 steady by grabbing the top of the shell behind the head (it will feel like your fingers are digging into the neck skin) and at the tail firmly. A second person could then work on removing material. If they are small enough you can even remove them from the water altogether using that method. It also prevents them from slapping the crap out of you or catching you with their nails.

Getting the husk off coconuts. Smash the pointy tip of the cocunut on a rock until the husk starts splitting in multiple places. That loosens the husk from the shell. Even a little boy less than 9 years old can tear that husk off the shell. Get rid of the spike. I learned this as a son of a missionary at the ELWA Mission Station in 1960's Liberia Africa from my Liberian playmates.

I am an old man now and have sailed since the 1960's. As a boy we were taught to put nothing overboard that did not sink unless it was vegetable. Things have rightly improved in terms of knowledge about what should go over the side. Sadly, actions have not. The amount of filth I sail through now is heartbreaking. Well done on the turtle rescue, I hope he makes it. I hope your videos at least educate a few to the wonders of the oceans that we need to survive.

If SV Delos could find a knife maker that makes a C shaped line cutter that is sharp only on the inside and sharper as slides along. A bit of a tongue in front to get under lines with nothing sharp at the front. This would be safer and quicker. A great Merch addition. Yachts worldwide could keep them board. Beaches could have them handy. Could be an affiliate marketing arrangement.
