I read and studied these principles when I was in my twenties. Now in my seventies, I again studied them. Although I had forgotten most of them I found that I had applied most and had been living them instead, Had I reviewed and re-applied them in my forties or early fifties I would have advanced greatly. As it is now I have lived a full and spiritual life. In retrospect, I am able to see the areas where I made mistakes and I could have improved. I am in anticipation of an even better eighties.

I've always been a loner, and for good reasons. I'm hated for being self efficient, masculine, handsome, with a bit of charisma and mystic. Things that some men either love or hate in a other men. Yes, I would rather be left alone. I was out there "trying to come to my own" as a young man, but had it all along. I recently came across a study that said that gratitude and anxiety use the same arena in our brain, and can't simultaneously occur. We are wired with the capacity for our choices to immediately affect us, haha, this is not a profound statement, but a true one. Let's remain grateful. I am happy to have been included in on this life. I know we are living in a backwards world during backwards times, but such is the backdrop we were given, and against such a backdrop, living in a truthful manner in alignment with goodness and beauty will help contrast against the stark magnificence of living well in times of turmoil. The most people that judge me, can't stand me, can't accept who I am and what I have to say or even ask for the sake and love of thier parents, they don't like my presence, hold grudges against me, they ignore me and if a family member speaks they praise them and and put them on a pedal stone, they just plain hate me and that is my blood siblings. I don't like confrontation, fighting, hurting anyone, insulting any one, name calling, but I am truely hated by family only!🙂

I know EXACTLY what you mean!. I had to take a look back at my life.. and figured out that my own family (even mom) was my blockers in life. We all still love eachother.. but for some reason...... they belittled me. This conversation can go on and on... currently struggling with a couple people at work that just *HATE* ME and we've never had confrontations, etc. This is totally fu*ked up! .. so I know how you feel!

Jesus Christ provides with perfect peace. People were made to be part of community, to reach out and support and love one another. I am a hermit by nature ,but that is not how God wants us to be. Yes there are people out there who use you, but we have the Holy Spirit who gives us discernment and who should be kept out of our inner circle of friends. God loves us and has a plan for each of our lives. I have found this the speech of a man who has been hurt and has put up walls around himself. Quite depressing , not encouraging, but stoic and frozen. Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly. To all you out there who are going through hard times or have no hope, Jesus came to give you life . God bless you all, Jesus brings us life eternal. I went through depression and went to end my life, but God came with His amazing love and changed my life. Stoicism is not the answer.

I'm 64 and retired. I have been a weight lifter since I was 19. I started practicing martial arts at 21. I still lift and do my kata's and do heavy bag training. I am a musician, and i was a loner since i was very young. I enjoy my friends, but i value my "me" time. I could spend all day writing, preforming, recording, and listening to music. I also have 3 aquariums, i meditate to them. I am a Pagan. I am a fortune teller. I use my crystal ball for fortune tell snd meditation. I studied Carlos Castaneda! Interesting books, i love "The Journey to Ixtalan." I own 60 acres with 55 wooded. I meditate in the woods. Fishing is a relaxing pastime. I eat healthy and am a avid gardener.
