I’ve rescued FOUR dogs in a very bad and sad shape from the streets.. Probably abandoned and abused. Since I moved to a house with a yard six years ago, every dog I’ve seen suffering in the streets that broke my hurt 😢, I took it home. So now those four are living together with me. Except the last one that FOUND ME almost two years ago during a cold and winter night. .He was the most desperate being I’ever seen in my life . He was looking for a home and a family and he chose mine. It seems to be that the four of them forgot completely their past because they behave like just born puppies 😂😂 they are extremely happy and they take care of each other as if they were together for ever. They love each other so much. Sunday mornings I let them come to our bed.. of course the mess 😂😂😂😂is overwhelming.. They are amazing 😉 but too much spoiled 😂😂 the magic word is “cookie” to have them sitting down around the jar in seconds 😂😂I am from Argentina 🇦🇷 so excuse my English sometimes ... ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I can’t believe how enriched my life is with my rescued dogs. I was 50 when I adopted my first rescue dog, then 52 when I added my second, who was a senior. She passed away a few years later and I’m searching for another now. I’d like to get another senior dog as Choobie is now 9 and misses Cookie. I agree with each of your lessons learned from adopting a rescue. ❤️🐕

Great life lessons! I live in the country and we have always had a poor unwanted (by someone else) dog that needed a good home. They were dumped near by and came to the house. They have made wonderful pets and have guarded the farm well. About 15 yrs ago we lost our beloved Winston and no one was leaving us a dog during the night so my husband went to the County Animal Control and brought home a pitbull mix. At first I was upset because we had small grandchildren, but I am telling you that girl was the best dog ever! She loved us, we loved her and everyone that knew her loved her. Then she passed away almost 2 years ago back to animal control we went and brought home a german shepard. The first year was wild, he was young and we are old..lol. But he is amazing now, he loves us and we love him. They do teach us a whole lot and have so much love to give. Folks don't waste your money on those high priced breeds, go to your shelters. Give them the love and they will love you back.

I’ve always adopted, too. Shelter dogs are every bit as wonderful (probably MORE wonderful, honestly) as any other dog-there’s nothing like enriching an abandoned dog’s life, and in turn you get an incredibly enriched life yourself. (My dogs have always loved their beds. They generously share their beds with me!) 🛏 🤣

I have just rescued, not necessarily from the shelter, but when I saw animals who were injured, i took them in and nursed them back to health. We have had a horrible shelter in my town and just recently the people here got fed up and went before the city council to remedy the situation. Ypu can bet these councilmen will be voted out in the upcoming election.

This meant so much to me Renee. My Schnauzer, Snuffy died in 1991 at 12.5 years of age, she had congestive heart failure and was the love of our lives. Where I live now, in a co-op in Washington, DC--no dogs are allowed, but I have taken in three shelter cats over the years since 1999. I have one with me now and he is so sweet but will be the last cat. I will move where I can have a dog and schnauzers are so special to me. I will most likely adopt a dog as you have. Pollux is special (such a love!) and to watch him with Maxxie and seeing how they get along so wonderfully is a lesion in diplomacy. Thank you!

I too had a blind dog from a shelter for many happy years. After he died a stray pregnant cat chose my house to deliver its 2 kittens-in the middle of winter - I hid them in a room for about two weeks until my husband discovered them and he doesn't like cats . As a result I made them a very warm home in my garden . Well the kittens sadly died after running under cars but we still have the very intelligent mothercat - and she has taught us that animals are the best parents ever -she also managed to change my husband's views on cats

There is nothing that warms the heart more than the love of a dog! And shelter dogs especially. They just seem to appreciate and understand that you made the choice to make them part of your family. My Max, a 90 pound American Staffy, and lapdog, makes me smile and laugh everyday. The love I feel from him is beyond description. I am new to your channel and this video made me cry. I have loved watching your dog journey so far. It's amazing what we learn from these special creatures. I lost my chocolate lab in May and was broken. I've always been a dog person, though, and it was the first time I had been without a dog in years and years. Fast forward to September and somehow, despite the grief I felt, I met two rescue pups who would prove that I still had the capacity to love. I know my baby girl had guided them to me and here I am, a month later, and I am just so happy to have that warmth and love and spirit back in my home and life. So thank you for sharing. Because it means a lot during these hard times to watch something so beautiful especially when I totally get the journey. ❤️

My Parker turned 7 on May 11. He is not quite a shelter dog but close - I adopted him from a German Shepherd rescue at 5 months. He is a German Shepherd mix. The strongest bond I've ever had with a dog ♥️ He is so sweet and affectionate and always makes me laugh - like when he sometimes tries to yank the covers off me in the morning to wake me up. And we both love Cheetos too! I even love him enough to share the orange powder on my fingertips with him 😆 Nothing quite like having paw prints on your heart 🐾 Blessings to you and your family (doggies included!!) 😊

All my dogs have been shelter dogs. I have 3: German Shepherd/corgi (Duke), basset hound/pit (Chata), and a Terrier mix (Leti). My girls are constantly playing. Duke is the serious one, he plays with me but no one else. I have 3 autistic children that he somehow knows how to behave with them. One of my sons can be rough with him (pulling his ear) but Duke just sits there. He has so much patience with my son, Duke will sit by him when my son is having a sensory issue. They have a special bond that I sometimes tear up thinking that one day Duke won’t be with us anymore. Duke is a senior dog, I got him when he was 3 yo.

This was a great message Renee. I never had a dog until I was in my 40s! She was a Jack Russell from the shelter. We had her for 8 years and we loved to take a Judy 😄 Lost her last year and I miss her so much. Thank you for sharing your life and your pups! 💙💙

I just found your channel and I love it, I love animals and especially dogs, and after losing my beautiful stray Max, and then the divorce life felt kinda rotten, but after see your channel I'm going to go to a shelter and pray a beautiful dog will pick me to be their forever home, cause when you're chosen by a dog that will be my best friend, thank you so much and I'm staying on your channel.

Thanks you for teaching people about rescue animals. For anyone interested in some of these rescues, it'll warm your heart to watch some of Hope for Paws videos on KZbin. Nothing is more sacred than giving a voice to the voiceless.

You are such a sweetheart, Renee. The way you love your furbabies, the way you love your family, the way you love life in general, it`s very inspirational and heartwarming : ) Beloved pets bring such joy to our lives. The unconditional love they give us on a daily basis just makes us better people as a whole. We can learn so much from animals. I`m so glad I discovered your channel. I really do enjoy your videos and of course, the doggies! : ) God bless, ~ Judi : )
