My vote is for Churchill with the helmet. The helmet especially because I think that's a great way to tell the story of the Battle of Britain, and it speaks to who Winston Churchill was as a man. If I recall, he was known to get himself into dangerous situations and the Battle of Britain was not just something that the soldiers and the pilots fought, but the whole city population. The Russian would be my second vote, especially because it seems like there's a little bit of extra work for you to do in terms of cleaning up some smaller parts and adding details 👌🏻👊🏻

Most people have voted for Rommel, I would have vote this way too Scott, but I would really like to see how you would paint Churchill pin striped suit and as Gordon suggested the two different heads. All three are beautifully sculpted and I know who ever wins you will do them justice.

Since you confessed to opening up all the boxes/figures you must paint all 3. I suggest in the order of Rommel, Churchill, Russian. Rommel will be great for oils because of the flesh and leather coat then onto Churchill, no hat please or make a second paint on second head with hat or helmet and plug in/plug out change to torso. His clothing would make a good study for acrylics. The Russian would look good with sweaty face and dirty uniform. By the way Churchill smoked about 5 of those "Cubans" daily. Looking forward towards any thing you paint. Cheers.

I’ve seen lots of the Rommel finished..and the Russian offers the most scope for artistic expression and was my fav going in...but darn I ended up with Churchill. And one heck of a challenge do finish per the real guy...no hiding there..

Thanks John, I agree Rommel is done a lot and I have to say I’d be leaning towards one of the others as well. I did ask for participation on this so I’ll have to go with the general consensus and right now Rommel leads the pack. There’s still time for others to chime in and it’s really close with Churchill and the Russian. Cheers!

@@icedjimmy That’s a good question. I thought of using thin strips of Tamiya tape over a white or light grey base colour then spraying the blue. Remove the tape to reveal the lighter colour underneath. The other option is to freehand them.

@@icedjimmy Artist pencils are an excellent suggestion i'd try that as well. Any way you do it I think it'll be challenging and time consuming but worth it if you pull it off. I'd try several methods before going to the finished figure. Good luck and I hope yours turns out great! Cheers.🙌

I have Rommel and Winston too but not genuine ones ebay specials .. i would like to see you paint rommel as i think the promotional pictures dont look like him at all and are terrible.... but i will go with winston as i like to see how you tackle the pinstripe. Scale 74 does a excellent Rommel if you think this looks like him check that one out it is Rommel in 1/35th

Ok. Really I think they’re all painted to perfection. Like I said in the video Sang-eon is a master of personality likeness and an amazing painter. Please... if you did buy a recast Chinese version think twice about supporting the artist and company first or we won’t have these lovely figures to paint anymore as the Chinese re-casters will kill them. ROMMEL and that hat with Winston isn't a bowler; it's a fedora/trilby/panama type (difficult to tell really just from the casting and on vid...) but it's NOT a bowler; bowlers don't have a central crease in the crown, and the brim on a bowler is much smaller, just fyi. They all look amazing though... thanks for sharing, and will look forward to whichever one you do. Cheers!
