I really thought that was a Michael Jackson song until I started listening to the lyrics, and then I thought "this has to be a parody or spoof of one of his songs" but even then, it doesn't seem to be the case. It's just a completely original joke song that sounds exactly like Michael's work and that alone is impressive enough. The whole process of meticulously sculpting everything and putting it all together is so amazing, I can't even wrap my head around how long that must all take to do, on top of the additional editing and filming for everything else surrounding making the video. I'm blown away by all of it, keep up the great work.

It's much like Weird Al's song that was a pastiche of Devo, which prompted the following reaction from Mark Mothersbaugh: "I was in shock. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever heard. He sort of re-sculpted that song into something else and... I hate him for it, basically."

Hi Cody. I’m glad you found solace in my videos. The work you do is as unenviable as it is eternal. The most important meeting a person will ever have is with their God. And you make them look beautiful for that. I can’t think of a more noble position, even if it’s difficult to get the smell of glutaraldehyde out of your hair. I’ll always be making videos and I’m always around if you want to chat. Love B

@excruciatingsleep

@@BeetleSystems If I may, I disagree with your disagreement. "Shitpost" in no way excludes something from high art. The Divine Comedy was written partially as a fuck-you to Dante's political rivals and professional enemies. Several figures in the paintings on the Sistine Chapel were people that Michaelangelo disliked and thus put them into Hell. Georges Perec wrote a whole novel without the letter E just as a flex, and Joyce wrote Ulysses both to show off his education and to flummox readers and critics. One may both shitpost and achieve high art.

Easily the best video I have seen on YT so far in 2023. Amazing skill and dedication to the craft while taking the audience on a spiritual and emotional roller coaster ride to get at the essence of the moment Michael Jackson's hair caught fire on the 27th of January in 1984. This video transcends the medium. It belongs in a museum!

Bobby Fingers just might be a surrealist renaissance man. The sculpting and diorama building are impressive in themselves, but this man went back 3500 years to make a detailed oil lamp... ...of Michael Jackson's hair catching on fire. Also, for the song being a shitpost parody, he's got a good voice for it! All of this mixed with some LSD inspired visuals, it's almost too much to take in. Well done sir. Also, cheers for pulling off some decent MJ choreography.

I had a bizarre experience on the day Michael Jackson died. I was practicing with my band in Atlanta, and when we finished playing one of our amps briefly picked up a radio station. (Apparently that’s a thing that can happen, but it’s never happened to me before or since.) The radio station was picked up just long enough for us to hear “Michael Jackson died today at the age of fifty.” We thought we must have heard wrong, but we went straight from practice to a gas station to get some snacks and everyone there was talking about the news.

These are so fucking well done. I don't think I ever would have mentally connected you to Mr Chrome without the musical segment. Fucking brilliant, truly. Please keep it up. I can't imagine there is an extremely high number of people who watch videos on KZbin of diorama production and who also want to fight other people's fathers, but there must be at least a few of us.

I liked the part where he made a diorama. Also the part where he performed Dickie Don’t Fuck My Sister. I also liked the part where he got the extras from Eyes Wide Shut to do outdoor alloy casting backed by existential conservation poetry. Those were some of my favorite parts, to name a few.

"Then you stare into the wet metal, this soup of light that screamed from the guts of a star as it shed its skin eons ago, and yet in the life of our universe, only a few grains of sand have fallen into the glass below. Our mother is an infant, still we take the purest of things inside her, and leave her with such burdens, because we break the things we love, and monsters sharpen their claws in the void where youth is confused with beauty." I wept. Thank you.

It seems that like many others I came to this video directly from Matt Parker’s. I would hope that your subscriber numbers have (in the statistical sense) gone up significantly. Many commenters have used words and phrases that at best I could do no more than aspire to, but this was revelationary to me. Thank you so much for brightening my life!
