I had 2 of these colts. One in uk and 1 in Spain. Incredibly capable/frugal/ reliable spacious cars. Love the little 3 cylinder petrols. One in Spain left months at a time. Always started. When I sold it I found out it was a hire car previously so prob didn’t get treated or serviced too well. I bought my daughters partner one when he found a job. Done 130k when I bought it for £850. Still going now 6 yrs on. Looks a complete shed but totally mechanically reliable. Don’t think they were too popular but got place in my heart these

Impressive reliability👌🏽My Golf needed its first battery replacement during covid. It managed 17 years on the original battery, still on the original alternator now though. That one bolt bro, classic engineer's design to spite the mechanic😂

Annoying when you come across bolts that looks easy to access, but to find something is blocking it 🤦🏽♂️

Great video as usual, and no matter what job you do on a car, there's always that one bolt!!!!

Worst part about it is, it’s always the last bolt 😂😭

Wait until you try and replace an Hyundai i10 alternator with the stretch belt! I was asked to do this and it turned out to be the main fuse!

How do you know how much tension to put on the belt please?

I recently fitted a lion to my shed peugeot 106. 3 year warranty, so if it fails, straight back to ECP! Cheap at £34

Varta/Bosch comes with 4 Years Guarantee and Warranty for only £10/15 more. Would you rather have it fail never or fail once a year? I’m sure your time and fuel costs money too?

@@themarvelousvlog I think any battery will probably outlast the car!

Haha that’s true! I’m very much doubting it with this one though. 200k for a 3 cylinder petrol is amazing 😂

Halfords own branded battery is actually quite decent tbf had it 4yrs expired a yr ago still going strong. My mate has a lion battery in his astra hes had it 2yrs so havent had a bad experience with many tbh

I didn't know the brand Lion, so that is Halfords way to take their name off them to sell more I guess! I haven't owned a car since getting into motorbikes in 2016, but I used Halfords brand batteries when they were Halfords branded (on my old 328is E36), never had an issue. People need to remember that cheap does not always equate to bad quality, sometimes it's mass production/an attempt to take a larger slice of the market with smaller margins in profit, but making more through numbers. I'm sure the batteries are made by a company that makes them for other brands too, Halfords almost certainly are not the ones making them.

the best bits are not in the vid! ....i.e. you struggling with that seized bolt and then mending it
