You mentioned you changed your plant's location .. I think it was suddenly shocked from too much stronger direct sun light. Plus bottom of pot soil was wet & top was dry .. so I'm guessing again that hot direct light was drying top layer of soil out & plant not getting the right water it needed. The water was just draining down to bottom of pot too fast & not staying up in root area long enough for plant to absorb & use because of extra strong light & drainage. That's my guess .. 💚🌿 Great it got repotted new soil but I would back off on that full hot direct ☀️ sunlight a bit. Good luck 👍

Thanks Jenn! Yes, I also think that the change in the lighting condition shocked the plant into turing all the leaves yellow. The roots looked pretty OK but changing the potting medium didn't help with the yellowing leaves 😢. I've since propagated it in my latest video and so far it seems to be going well. Fingers crossed! I believe it was getting rot bounded. The roots look great. It's also leggy. You can propagate it to make more. It's a very beautiful plant. I have one. Thanks for sharing.

What are the different potting soils you used?

I think the original potting mix had more coco peat and more dense but the newer one had more perlite and pumice, which is looser and airy.

From what I recalled, I didn't really fertiliser it but maybe there was already something in the original potting mix. This plant is STILL struggling for me to date 😔 I really love this beautiful Dieffenbachia.

Light is not an issue. Its the soil. Too much water retention

Underwatering. They cant dry out for 2 weeks.... dry rot. The roots cant take on the water now. Thats why it didnt dry out.

Still my favourite Dieffenbachia, so going to try again. Watering is really an issue with this one.

This one is higher level plant...I shall stick with Caladium for now 😅
