Well done video Anyone who knows the population of a favela well knows that most people are welcoming, honest and hardworking. Unfortunately it is a population that is mostly excluded and/or marginalized by society / government and "used" as a shield and business opportunity by criminal factions. But you, with your video, were able to demonstrate a little of the example, how wonderful these people are :)

Meus olhos encheram de lágrimas. Que vídeo bonito sobre a realidade de um trabalhador sobrevivendo num país corrupto que só explora o trabalhador. Trabalhador no Brasil e malabarista! Obrigada pelo seu documentário. Brasileiros burgueses associam o pobre como sendo perigoso pois tem medo das suas bolhas serem quebradas. Trabalhemos por mais justiça as comunidades ‼️♥️🙏🏾😘

I liked your focus in this news-magazine-style piece. This is not the place for a critical review, so I will note instead that it was the carefully produced and well- focused narative on a likeable character with a story worth telling that really makes this view worthwhile. In the process you've creatively humanized a people and a community that are all too often shoved aside as irredeemable, and disregarded by the louder, more influential, media powers. In spotlighting one man's positivity and kindness -- his hard work and his dreams of doing better -- you have made him relatable to any other working man and woman in any other place in the world who dreams of a better life. Excellent work, Stay Classy!

I appreciate the fact of trying to show the world that people in the favela are regular people, but that brings me to a point that people need to start understanding. People in the favelas are just people and not anthropological field studies. Let’s leave them alone, if you don’t have anything to add and or help them improve their lives, leave them be. This thing with coming to Brazil to always “film” their lives is starting to get a little irritating. I can go to any country in this world and do the same thing. I lived abroad Brazil for 25 years and I have seen a lot of shit that the “developed world” hides from foreign. So, please once again. A favela is not the zoo. It’s a place where a lot of hard working families live and I’m pretty sure they would nothing more than to improve their life conditions. People living in glass houses you know. I’m sorry if I come about a little harsh, but Brazil has a lot more to offer than the old stereotype of “wow look at all the poor people and they behave just like us”. Remember it’s OUR pursuit of wealth and accumulating things that push whole groups of people to the margins.

This is a very interesting video. I have been to Brazil a few times but paid no attention to the Favela , was told it is a dangerous place but this video opened up my eyes to these people living there. Although I have seen some documentaries on the favelas but your is more personal. Brazil is such a beautiful country with very friendly people . I miss visiting.

It is a SHAME that so many Brasilians have to live in FAVELAS. The country is RICH but only for a few. DISGUSTING.
@son_o_day
@son_o_day 2 жыл бұрын
It's not really 'rich', 1.5 Trillion USD GDP for 210 Million puts GDP per capita at 6k USD per person per year. Which makes brazil the same as countries in Western Africa. Very poor. There is problem with distribution of wealth in Brazil though, un-equal distribution.

@@son_o_day Don't say BS, Brazil has a GDP per capita of 7k USD, much higher than the GDP per capita of West African countries (that have an average of 1.7k USD) and higher than all African countries, excluding Mauricío, with only 1 .2 million people and Seychelles, with only 98k inhabitants. Not to mention that our GDP per capita dropped a lot in this pandemic, because in 2019 it was 9k, higher than some Eastern European countries. Of course Brazil is not rich and it is very unequal, but comparing our economy with Western African countries is an ignorant and disrespectful statement.
