I saw LOA when they toured for RRR back in 93 at a dive bar in CT with about 13 people for an audience. No one had ever heard of them but they instantly made die hard fans out of everyone there. It was one of those moments you never forget.

I also saw them back in the early and mid 90s five or six times at some shit hole bars and some pretty cool nightclubs sure miss them days seeing a band for seven bucks or less

Different sound, but still excellent. RRR, Ugly and 1989-1999 were three of my most played albums growing up. Love that rawness of RRR, but have liked everything since too. Actually, 'Here I Am, Here I Stay' is still one of my favourite songs ever, so good. The more controlled vocals are nice, but I also really loved the emotion in the older vocals. I don't know where I'm going with this lol But love LoA in all its incarnations :)

Maybe because Mina's already happy with herself. From what I've seen in their videos from the 90's-00's, when she was still a he, she wasn't comfortable in her body. Which is crucial for oneself, yk.

River Runs Red had more yarling than an Eddie Vedder factory. I prefer these vocals.
@Grindermetalhead5 жыл бұрын
I wish they'd go back to the River Runs Red sound because that was, in my honest opinion, one of the best, most original heavy albums ever recorded. The riffs, the tempo changes, the breakdowns, the way they combined elements of hardcore and metal, it was, and still is a fucking masterpiece. I understand if Mina doesn't want to go back to that era vocal style, but still, the music could be a lot heavier. This is alright but it lacks heaviness.

My opinion is what happened was the Stone Temple Pilots. They, or the singer, has been doing more of STP/Scott Weiland style instead of what they did on River Runs Red.
@jamesgazdik94975 жыл бұрын
They wanted to evolve and not repeat the same album over and over again. I commend them for it and think they've done an amazing job. RRR and Ugly are masterpieces but it is time to move on and keep creating more Original stuff.

Its not bad but it's definitely a new sound. It will be the first LOA cd i won't be interested in buying. Sal Abruscato needs to brought back in the band for starters and i still can't get my head around Keith. He was someone i always looked up to and always thought to myself 'Damn that guy looks cool' But now he is a woman! It just don't sit right with me. Good luck to him, im just not in to that stuff.
