@larryogden A backhoe derives its name from the action it produces: pulling earth back toward the vehicle. The primary difference between a backhoe and an excavator lies in the fact that an excavator has its own chassis beneath it while a backhoe attaches to a separate vehicle. Backhoes are available in farming models or in models designed for industrial uses. The farming models tend to weigh significantly less because they don't have to carry the same load as industrial models. Excavators have a wide range of industrial and commercial applications. They can dredge rivers, help clear spaces to manage forest fires, cut brush (with the right attachments), demolish buildings, grade soil for landscapers, dig holes and trenches, help with mining and heavy lifting, and even drive piles. Backhoes are also useful for digging different types of holes or trenches. Common hydraulic attachments include tilt rotators, grapples, augers and breakers, allowing backhoes to do everything from drilling deeper holes to carrying heavy tools. However, excavators and their smaller version, the mini-excavator, are making the backhoe obsolete outside of farming applications.

Culture in the US is a little bit different regarding industrial equimpent. We mostly run dedicated machines and make do with the tool installed. That's not to say quicktach isn't common over here, but for many machine owners, it's not worth the investment on a machine that will mostly be used for excavation
@KyleJe13 жыл бұрын
@365CL Like he said it saves the turbo on the machine. It covers the exhaust while transporting to keep the wind from the road from blowing down and turning the turbo. The wind will spin the turbo and becuase there is no lubrication when the engine is off it can ruin the bearings and you will have to replace the turbo. Whenever your transporting equipment with the exhaust facing forward you should cover the exhaust.
@GunChief11 жыл бұрын
Those kind of trailers are designed too keep the center of gravity low. It's good for transporting big machinery with a certain height (bigger and taller than the one in the video). It's possible too unhitch the part going up too the fifth wheel, so you can drive whatever piece of load straight upon it.
