Aloha Hawaii, I did this work in Hawaii for 6.5 year, hard work, good team, real exercise, for boxers, footballers 2 months of this, and your muscles be hard licks a rock, just from pulling floater balls. You can catch a fish the same day and ear it on the same day, catch of the day. This work keep you fit like a fiddle, if you can mentally overcome the pain," no pain no gain ".

Amazing, Handline A 150 LB or bigger tuna to gaff. Do they brainspike the tuna and slide the cable down the spine to stop all neuromusclar activity?

I went on one long line fishing tour on a tuna ship called rock n robin invthe 90s. I was out for about 2weeks. It was the hardest job I ever experienced. I admire the guys who has been doing this kind of work for years. They certainly deserve every penny that earned. One thing that shocked me was that a lots of sharks get caught and when sharks come up; they just cut off the fins (to sell to Chinese reassurance) and throw the rest back in the ocean.

50 miles of distance? First, how do you set up your line just so it won’t tangle with other line? And how do you make sure it won’t hook into other boats?
@hawaiianfreshseafood65066 жыл бұрын
50 miles is the maximum... usually it's more like 30. Tangles do happen. Especially when other boats are around and fishing close by.

Hi thank you so much for your reply. Can you tell how do you make this equipment such as how lbs is the test line, hook size, and what bait to use? Did you buy this pre rig? Or how do you make long line fishing ? Thank again
@hawaiianfreshseafood65066 жыл бұрын
@@vsonic86 mainline test is 1000lbs, leader test 400, bait is sanma. We make everything ourselves.

Fitrah Wibowo you have definitely never caught a tuna over 100lbs. The gill plate will RIP its face and the gaff will come out. Top of the head or eye is the correct place to gaff the fish.
