Life's a Beach and the Pinks are here! Pink Salmon Beach Fishing

What's more fun than beach fishing for massive schools of pink salmon?!? This fishery is really simple, but so much fun! I talk about ideal rod and lure selection to maximize efficiency in hooking these pink salmon as well as having a blast fighting them in.
Tides are also really important, a few hours after low slack and it got crazy!
Like the title says, life's a beach and the pinks are here dude, get out there and have some fun!

Pink marabou jig about 2 ft under a slip float,inline weight. Cast out reel 3 cranks then pause. Repeat until float goes down.

Absolutely kills them in the salt. I learned the technique from a Salmon University article by Tom Nelson I believe about Pink Salmon techniques in the salt. The first time I tried it it worked like a charm. They slam it when you stop reeling and the jig swings back down .

Nice! I can’t wait to try it! I’ve used that method with chum in both salt and fresh, and also with pinks in fresh, so it only makes sense it would also work in the salt

Yes! They are stacked down there as of the last week at the mouth of the Nisqually. Huge run this year on that river!

How was this area? I was down south a bit at the next point and it was pretty dead on the incoming tide. I did land a nice one on the high slack, but it took like 4 hours to catch something and I was the only one who did. I'm considering going here tomorrow.

Kyle I will be visiting Seattle Oct 1-4 since salmon season is closed here in california will it still be open in Seattle at that time? Also do you have any recommendations for any salmon charter or any outdoors activities to do during that time frame? Thanks for your help. 😊

I would contact Cary Hoffman at cnh guide service and see what he's doing in that timeframe. Those days in October I will be hunting hopefully. But if I was going to fish salmon, I would be looking to target coho in whatever river was closest with a decent run of fish. I would also be looking for mushrooms in the woods. Not a ton of saltwater fishing happening, but there will still be coho out there in a few marine areas. Also, chinook will still be coming into coastal rivers, but if we don't have any rain, those rivers will be shutdown.

@@PNWBestLife thanks for your input, sounds like pikes place for my salmon fix. I need to review your calendar video to see when is the best time to come up and fish for salmon. It has always been a dream of mine to hook up to a 40lb plus king, here in the Bay Area 30lbs is about as big as it gets besides the occasional 40plus pounders. I’d love to know your input as to when geoduck and king salmon might be a possibility. I might drive up there and try to camp for a week.

Geoduck is all about big minus tides, which you can find in July typically, which is also when chinook salmon fishing is usually pretty good. You will have to look into the tide tables for 2024, but I'm pretty sure you can find a late July low tide where you may have MA9 and/or 10 open for chinook as well.
