@@parthasarathy5222 Hey dude. I've had that too, it depends on the hernia. Some may be caused by excessive pushing (I don't know that much about those but my dad had one because of his line of work), some are just genetics acting up (it was my case, nothing you can do about it). Good news is, there has been much progress in treatment now. Your dad and granddad probably have a big scar on their belly, now it's just three tiny little holes, barely visible. Other good news is, it heals quickly. 2 months out (including one in bed, true), then you can progressively get back to sports if it does happen. I haven't felt anything bad eversince, even though it was a wake up call for me and I've been spamming sports (bike, gym, parkour, fencing). Take care ! :)

I had a rough childhood growing up which caused me to have a food addiction.That snowballed into heavy depression,self harm and many suicide attemps. One day you randomly came up in my shorts around 2 years ago. The video was you telling people to not be ashamed to show their physical accomplishments. I liked your content and I kept on watching your other videos over the next few months,more and more fitness content started being recommended to me. One day I said enough was enough. I jumped into fitness without any knowledge and I went on a stupid anorexia diet and did a shit ton of cardio (Which of course failed because it wasn't sustainable. I would alternate between overeating and anorexia every couple months). I was deadly afraid of going to the gym so I went to the park to exercise instead until you told me how gym culture was accepting of everyone. Fast forward a year and a half after I began my weight loss journey and I lost 17kg while gaining a lot of muscle. I went from being 132kg at 40-45% body fat to 115kg at 33% body fat as of today. I learned a lot about nutrition and I now have a blanced diet. I don't think I'd be here if I didn't see your KZbin short that day and I just wanted to thank you for it. I wanted to let you know that you emotionally supported a lot of people at times of need when you started KZbin and now;we are here to emotionally support you. Hope you have a fast recovery ❤

@@DeusPsycho I was depressed and bitter about stresses in my life, for years leading up to the Cancer diagnosis. I ate poorly and became an alcoholic, which probably caused Cancer. The diagnosis, colon surgery, chemo, ostomy bag for 7 months, and surgery to reconnect the remaining colon forced me to adopt a healthy lifestyle. I have been eating healthy and been sober for more than 7 years now. Honestly, I would have been bitter if I had to live with an ostomy bag situation for the rest of my life. Now I’m 63, and live my life one healthy day at a time, while appreciating my family and friends. Thanks for asking. I wish you good health and happiness!

So I'm pretty active in the fitness community, but have never really consumed much of Noel's content. It wasn't until recently that I began to see legions of fans espouse how much they genuinely love this man that I decided to start watching his content. Tbh I've still not seen much, but there has to be something special about a guy, that receives nothing but love from the most toxic community online; the fitness community. I haven't seen exactly what that *IT* is, but whatever that *IT* is, this man must have it. Seriously I have no idea why this man is so loved, but I feel as if I should love him, given how much this community genuinely fkn loved this man. I thought it was some inside joke that I wasn't aware of but no, it's legit love. 4 days, 400k views, 100% *"We love you Dad!"*

Literally the most perfectly timed video for me. Having shoulder issues and might need to go see a surgeon. I haven't been able to lift for upper body for 2 weeks and most of my thoughts all day go back to "I want to lift so I don't lose muscle". You really know how to calm our minds on issues that people that don't lift can't understand and for that I thank you. Good luck and praying for a fast recovery for you.
@LeBionArc
@LeBionArc Жыл бұрын
Physiotherapist here. Don't worry too much about your muscle mass. If you undergo surgery, you will most likely lose some, but regaining muscle is several times easier than gaining it in the first place. Even minimal strength training once a week will delay atrophy even further. The worst thing you can do is overestimate your recovery, even if you're pain free. Messing up recovery from surgery can exacerbate the injury to a worse point than before. I lift myself and had to get surgery in both my shoulders (removed AC joint) because a bench collapsed from under me during dumbbell presses, where 50 kg. dumbbells dropped on each of my shoulders. I could lift again in 3 months, but NOT ANYTHING remotely resembling my PR. That just takes time, but our muscles are definitely forgiving. I almost didn't lose any mass. I'm sure you can do it!
@coreyorndoff9417
@coreyorndoff9417 Жыл бұрын
@LeBionArc sorry to hear about your shoulders. Sounds horrible. That's great information though and I appreciate it and the words of wisdom. Definitely hard to stay out of the gym once you get in a rhythm and get addicted to it.
@LeBionArc
@LeBionArc Жыл бұрын
@@coreyorndoff9417 thanks mate. Surgery should be the last resort. If you're able to train yourself out of an injure, that's way better. Surgery near joints also increases the risk of arthritis significantly. If your problem is rotator cuff related, there's plenty of good exercises, but seeing as you're a lifter, I'm gonna take a guess and say it's weight lifters syndrome, where pain is worsened in the top part of your shoulder when you move your elbows behind your body or cross your arm to the other side. That's not to be taken lightly. If that's the case, dips is a no go during recovery, same as flat bench. A slight incline during bench may help a lot, since your elbows don't go behind your body as much in an incline position.

Daddy Noel, I had an inguinal hernia repair in March 2022. I noticed tingling and and burning while hinging and valslva in my groin. After a squat session the hernia become visible and was protruded. I immediately looked for surgeons and got my surgery two months later. It was painful for three days and a lot of bleeding pooled in my testicles. I still fear with training that another hernia could protrude, but I’ve been great with no symptoms. My surgeon assured me the new methods are good and the re-incidence rate is rare. I wish you all the best! 👏🏻 Edit: Im 25 so these things can happen to anybody there’s no shame in this happening to anyone at any age. Inguinal hernia is also influenced by genetics and great training form doesn’t guarantee it not happening. It a predisposed weakness in the abdominal wall lining. It turns out my father had one in his 20s as well from lifting something light off the floor 😂

I'm happy your vids are going to be there to guide me as they have been throughout this journey. Love yah man.

Honestly I can't say anything that other people haven't said, but know that you've been a massive inspiration for me, and looking back probably played a key part in me going to the gym. I started watching fitness videos and content way before I started consistently working out, and surrounding myself in the community has definitely helped to keep me on track and push me rather than if I've done this on my own. I can't thank you enough to be one of the only fitness influencers to also bring mental health to the table. I wish you a speedy recovery ❤

I went in for EVD surgery back in 2020, one thing I learned from life after the surgery is that you come out even stronger; you will know who are your faux friends and relatives are and most importantly you will understand what your body is capable to do next! I rejoined the gym and has been great! I lift better, eat better and look healthy. That is all I want.

Throwing my hat into the support pile as well. Noel, you’ve been a beacon of hope in a lot of our lives. You’ve built such an awesome community. We love you and can’t wait to see you fully healed and back to being a Titan in no time. I know its going to be rough for you mentally not being able to get gym time in during recovery. You don’t need to hear me say it, but don’t push yourself. Healing is so vital in those early stages. Make sure you’re pain free before you go back to doing what you know best. We wish you a lightning fast recovery, bro.

Because of you I have gotten back into working out and lifting weights, so thank you! Your honesty and transparency with the hardship of self esteem/ self love really helped me realize that it’s going to take time to get where I want to be (even if I don’t know where that is at the moment). Every video you show us that you’re only human really helps us viewers remember that you started from somewhere and we can too. Your physique and mental strength are obtainable for those of us who find it hard to grasp the necessary motivation to keep going. All in all, I just want to say a huge thanks and I hope your recovery process goes well! Please keep us updated.

@@syeets2636 I’m currently 27. I was 18 fresh out of highschool when I was diagnosed. I was in the hospital on my 19th birthday getting a blood transfusion. By thanksgiving that year I had my entire colon removed and large intestine. I have a J pouch now- but I had an illisotomy for a few years. I dodged colon cancer- if I had my colon any longer it would have developed. I’m lucky to be alive, and I’m grateful for everyday.

I don't know if you'll read this, Noel, but you really are - as for many people in this comments section - a tremendous inspiration for me. I'm aware you use a CPaP machine to help with sleeping - this struck me when I found out, as my dad (22 year army veteran) also 8=uses one. It was actually my mum who inspired me first to start at the gym, though, two years ago; she has Charcot Marie-Tooth disease, and uses a BiPaP machine to help her sleep. Upon realising that I could have minor CMT myself (which is a hugely debilitating disease) she urged me to start lifting to mitigate the effects as I get older. It is after finding your page that I knew it could be done despite whatever happens to my body in the future. From all of us, thank you, and Godspeed on your recovery.

Noel, you have helped me so much throughout my process of getting back into the gym. It is because of your transparency and brutal honesty that I have stayed subscribed to your channel and followed all your content. Honesty is a rare trait nowadays-especially in the fitness industry let alone life. You have led by example always, and I want to thank you for putting out all the content you have, and for being so forthcoming. I’m sure this goes without saying, but if there is anything myself or this community can do to help you during this process, please do not hesitate to reach out. Take care of yourself and focus on your recovery, don’t injure yourself trying to get back into the swing of things. Take it slow. We’ll all be here waiting for you when you get back and supporting you in the meantime during this process.
