its just crazy for me to think that North americans have this kinda of culture to move out when college starts because in Brasil we stay in our parents house for so long
@rzangyz36723 жыл бұрын
@@gabrielamenezes1180 Mostly happens in the U.S only, it's a peer pressure thing to move out. I'm 19, and I move to the U.S at 16 and I thought I have to save up money to move out as fast as I can because that's what kids my age said. But where from I'm from its different and people move out in their late 20s or 30s. Here people move out at 18 and 20s. My big brother has a job is 26 and still live with our parents, but he helps pay rent. I'm thinking doing the same as him. To be honest moving out so young means you have to be ready and have money. Its better to stay with your parents until you have money to survive

I relate to that so much! All of my friends went to uni straight out of high school but I didn’t go until last year, so I’m 3 years behind them in terms of that. I worked, I volunteered and I took care of an ill relative during that time so while it felt like I was being left behind, I actually ended up with a lot more life experience than I bargained for. I bet you do too!!

yess omg i was literally just about to comment about this !! it really made me tear up a bit and felt a huge wave of relief washing over me when i heard that, because i didn't go to university but everyone around me did, and some people i know has moved out but i still live with my parents and it's been completely freaking me out, thinking that i have to do that as well, when i myself know very well that i am not financially nor mentally stable enough to do that, but would like to do so sometime in the future but for now not yet. sorry for venting, i just felt happy to see that i'm not alone with this :")

I'm a college freshman and I've lived in campus for a year, but I don't like it. I don't like being in a dorm, I haven't made any friends and I feel lonely, I just don't like it. I'm planning my next year to stay at home with my family, and they are supportive of that idea. I feel like staying in college dorms is overrated. I'll just take classes online, and chill with my dogs and like Nina said I like to feel like there is people around me so I'll go stay with my family.
@sophv20003 жыл бұрын
@@rzangyz3672 yea I totally understand! I was in a triple dorm for almost 2 years and I cannot imagine doing virtual school in a room by myself. The thing that made it worth it was easy access to friends and activities I would only go back to my room to sleep. While being at home has its challenges I see my friends near campus in apartments and I don't really envy them anymore, every side has its pros and cons and if you get along with your family it's great! Wishing you the best!

Living with your family is nothing to be worried about! It's completely normal especially if it makes financially no sense to move out and waste money on rent when you can save that money for pitching in to your family's expenses or saving up for your future self (i.e vacations, down payment on a house, early start to save for retirement, etc...)

I actually felt this on personal level :( From August of 2020 to March of 2021 my parents and I had to move like 6-7 times. i love how the words you say are about yourself although i can relate to it on a personal level. i wish i had the capability to tell myself the things you tell yourself, i tend to focus a lot on how other people live, how the “system” works, doing this and that, what’s the “right way to live life”, i often forget to tell myself it’s okay, it’s not a big deal, you don’t have to do it just because others do, you don’t have to follow the system, as long as you’re happy and feel comfortable, at least to me it’s the most important. i just wanted to say that your words are really comforting, thank you nina 🤍

Nina, I just wanna say that your videos ground me sooo much and I'm so thankful for you sharing your outlooks on life with us! I'm turning 25 this year and some of my friends have moved out/are planning to move out this year and it makes me insecure sometimes that I'm still living with my family and I don't really have plans to move out anytime soon. Also the American societal pressure of moving out soon after college has also been weighing on my mind for a few years and whenever I feel urges of wanting to move out, I know that it's moreso because I feel like I HAVE to rather than I want to and I know I'm ready. So thank you for reminding me that we're all on different life paths and that living with your family is cool hehe love you nina! 💖

The ending of your vlog reminded me how 1) I too am tired of moving and not looking forward to that in a couple months. 2) I too would like to talk to people again. I had a virtual apartment tour recently and after the nice property manager answered all my questions, I wasn't sure what to say because I really liked talking to her and hadn't realized how much I missed chatting with people. Have you watched the My Hero Academia movies yet? Also, I know it's not anime, but Infinity Train is a great show with lessons and interesting characters. I highly recommend it!

I have eczema too and it's really annoying. Like, I have it even in my eyelids and around my eyes...

As someone who’s 23 and is still at home and very much feeling the fomo of other people my age, it’s so nice to watch your videos and feel like I’m not so alone ☺️
