Quite a few years ago now, my dad bought all the components of a pipe organ from a local church that had just removed their pipe organ. My parents lived in an old, large Victorian house, so he laid the pipes out in a large room, hooked it all up to his computer using a midi interface and some stuff he cobbled together, and got it working in his house that way.

Really enjoy your vlogs and love the editing. As an aside, to go to the expense of removing the boat to not “blast and two pack” is a complete waste of cash, you have made a really good decision there. The guy from Bluewater has done a KZbin video on the choices and the shortcomings of bitumen and how some yards just pressure wash and apply another coat which is a total waste of time and cash. The expensive boat will become scrap in a few years as moisture can easily become trapped under the bitumen coats. Take care and look forward to your ??news.

When you were talking about where to live other than on a boat, how about a tree den. When I was a kid, my friends and I built one in a majestic old oak tree. My best friend and I slept in it one night. It remained there for many years until some unkind person pulled it down. I'm now in my mid 70s (76 to be exact) and there is a lovely walk past that Oak tree and when I walk past it I give it a hug and say to it "Hello old friend"

I have the same taste in music as you Ben,and similar outlook on life I think.Only difference is that I am a 70 year old grandmother.However like you both i do live an alternate lifestyle in a 120 year old beautiful house in the australian countryside which I share with my daughter and her family and my twin brother.Eight of us in total as well as 2 dogs and a cat.We all get on really well and I just love my big loud messy family.We range in age from 70 to 17months what fun.Love watching you both and Allan you are inspiring.Good to know that people like you still exsist in the world.Thank you both for giving me joy and allowing a glimpse into your life.

I love reminiscing about the decades spent living the Aussie semi-rural lifestyle on a 5 acre horse property. The house was our self built steel Kit Home with cedar panelling (back in the '90's when Cedar was affordable) with verandas all round. It was a great lifestyle for our 3 little kids and the various pets (from cats, dogs, chickens and geese to lambs, ponies & horses). But things change for some of us as we age towards our 80's and now enjoy the Northern Thai lifestyle living in a village house with dogs and cats (plus various "street dogs" that we feed and care for). For us, it's the ability to adapt to life's changes, becoming ever better at DIY home-maintenance and keeping active in body and mind.

Hi there. Thanks for the latest vlog. You two look so happy. Thinking of the question about where would you have a new canal. You’re in luck the Wilts and Berks canal is being reinstalled. Redirected. It’s going to take a few more years. However it will do what Benny hoped for. It goes from semmington on the K&A heading roughly north towards Gloucester it would save having to go to Reading on the K&A from Bristol and getting to the midlands without the need of using the Bristol Channel / Severn estuary
