This is bringing back memories from when i ruptured my Achillees tendon. Couldn't drive for 3 months and was house bound for 3 weeks after surgery. Hope you get back on your feet soon (pardon the pun!)

I know your pain. I was in a car accident in 2015 and injured my ankle. I had to have several surgeries. Long story short, you need to look into an iWalk Crutch. It'll make navigating the stairs much easier and will free up your arms. You might even ditch the knee scooter all together. But whatever you do, follow your doctor's orders and get well soon!!

I broke my fibula in two places playing soccer a while ago. My goodness, worst pain in my life. I didn't need surgery though, but it still hurts to this day when it's cold an all. I hope you get a speedy recovery!!!

I had an accident on those small segways and broke my hip. Had similar issues to yours as I had damage to my foot so had to stay off my right leg at all times. I would try to do as many leg exercises as you can. Like leg raises and stuff . When i was finally able to stand up my right leg was like a twig since i spent like 90% of my day in bed . It’s still smaller than my other leg but I’m mostly fine now and you will be too!!! Agreed on the new perspective and it’s scary and humiatlinga bit depending on others for everything like food or bathroom and stufff but you will get through it !! I shattered my ankle in 2001 and had a metal plate, pins and a screw put in.... Healed fully over time and since I had a stroke 7yrs ago I primarily use that leg and ankle as I have limited mobility in the other side
