Thanks Darlene. Your story sounds a lot like mine in a lot of ways. I won't bore you, but I am grateful for where I am today. I believe it was my life's journey to get here. I am 71 and am finally with someone who has made me happy and continues to do so. I am happy for you as well. You are certainly deserving of happiness.

Glad you did a video tonight! I have been following you for about 5 years and can relate to so much of what you have been thru and all that you have accomplished. I was in a toxic marriage that ended in 1993. I focused on my kids, working as a drug and alcohol counselor, and taking care of my mother. Never considered dating, my enjoyment was crafting. Then in 2011, my daughter introduced me to a man she met and became friends with at her restaurant. We met for coffee several times before I agreed to a real date. I learned from him that I was a good person, that I could voice my opinion without fear, that I wasn't useless and stupid. We got married in 2013 and I have never been more comfortable and happy. Sorry for just rambling. I am so happy that you have Joe in your life! Never be afraid to be happy, shout it from the rooftops!

I like your chats. I tried to make the January crochet block of the month. It looked horrible. So I have taken it apart so many times. Yet I was able to crochet a popcorn flower. Go figure. But I will keep trying. I’m trying to make a sweater, well actually 4 sweaters. 2 afghans, and slippers , 2 quilts, and a quilted jacket……no pattern for anything. Just what’s in my brain. Drives me crazy at night when my mind just keeps going and I have to get up and draw pictures and write my instructions down. My hubby and I have been together since I was 15 years, he was 16. I am 66 and he is 67. 51 years, 3 sons, 4 grandchildren and many dogs and cats later we still click! We have 4 dogs and 2 cats at the present. I’m so happy for you and Joe and Rocket. Thanks for all the fantastic ideas.

Darlene I just found your channel and I really like you. You are very relatable and I appreciate your enthusiasm and zest for challenging yourself. Your openness is refreshing. I would be saddened if Al Anon was not accepting of anyone who feels they need or want the group experience. I loved your denim piecing video (I'm still learning). You're like the girlfriend you meet in the club bathroom and share a laugh in the mirror (good old 70's disco for me). I will continue to follow you and will send hope and prayers your way. Keep be happy.

Loved this chat Darlene. Your hair is looking gorgeous. Really like the length and it frames your face so beautifully. I appreciate you sharing about your weight loss and the skin thing. I have that too, and my guy also doesn;t care. I think as women we are so conditioned to think that we are not going to be accepted by men. The truth is actually the opposite, but it's so hard to be vulnerable and put yourself out there. Catch you soon! Kim in New Zealand

I had a jigsaw puzzle once that was actually called “impossible puzzle”. It was really challenging because it had NO outside pieces, the pictures within were repetitive and it deliberately had five extra pieces. I think it was 1000 pieces. A lot of fun but definitely challenging.

The free therapy of Al-Anon changed my life, and far more than any conventional mental health therapy. It seems like it unravels the underlying reasons people fell into drinking habits or chose to feel normal in unhealthy relationships, or just learning to have healthy relationships with others and themselves. Genuinely happy for your growth and how you share your experience, entertaining and teaching your followers.

I AM SO GLAD THAT YOU AND JOE ARE HAPPY . LISTENING TO YOU HELPS ME MORALLY AND PSYCHOLOGICALLY . I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN BY BEING REALISTIC ( AND NOT NECESSARILY NEGATIVE ). I was the same way when I met my husband he was too good to be true, I was used to assholes. I was just waiting for the let down. I never could believe every thing was as good as it was and was going to last. It hurt his feelings that I was scared, so I just willed myself to let go and just go for the ride, whatever happens. We've been married 33 wonderful years and he is still the same man I married. So turn loose and let go, and go on in. I know your fear.

Hey Darlene I’m happy you are doing good with Joe that is great.I started on carnivore and I’m having some issues been on it like 5 weeks . Did you ever have nausea or emotional times on it just trying to adjust.
@darlene.michaud8 ай бұрын
I had zero issues. Some people do have issues but it all depends on what they are doing. Here are the rules: when you are hungry, eat meat until you are full. When you are thirsty, drink water. Do this every time you are hungry or thirsty. If you are on high fat carnivore, then eat your fat as you wish. Remember DO NOT LIMIT your meat. This is not a restriction way of eating. And make sure you are not eating anything else for a bit. Try just meat (beef is best) and water for a bit. Even a tiny bit of something else can make you sick. It's like they say, 99% carnivore is torture, 100% is pure bliss. Good luck!

If you are type 2 then it might take some time to adjust. But it can be reversed! The scales can go up at the beginning. The woman I follow, Kelly Willams Hogan, gained something like 40 pounds when she started. Now she's a skinny mini. Here's her channel: www.youtube.com/@myzerocarblife

When I divorced my first husband I made a list of all the things I wanted in a future partner and I had people try to tell me I couldn't be so picky because I was older, fat, poor and had two kids from my first marriage. I told them I could do shitty on my own and if I never found the man that met all my criteria I would rather stay alone. I did find a man that met all my criteria and we married in 2008. I joke now that I should have made my list longer and more specific but he really has been a wonderful husband to me and a great dad to my two kids from my first marriage and to our child together and now we are grandparents together.
