Truth is.. all of us are going to “miss out” on so many things at some point or the other.. that’s how life works.. we can’t have it all! Just like how when we make a career choice between 2 most wanted options, we miss out on the experience of the option that we didn’t choose.. you’ll never know how your life would’ve turned out of you had chosen a completely different path.. we’re all “missing out” on something or the other all the time.. we just need to make peace with that and keep doing the things that make you feel alive everyday! That’s all🤩

It’s quite difficult, almost incomprehensible for most Indian people to understand that there are people (male and female) who have no desire to raise a child. They have other passions in life which they are fully committed to and they never think they are missing out.

Im a 30 yr old childfree woman too.. living my dream life, coming back home to a peaceful place, reading my pile of books without any disturbance, sip wine and sleep whenever I want, earn and splurge on whatever I want without any stress, learning new skills every month- gardening, kickboxing, new languages, jiu jitsu, swimming to name a few. My next goal is learning ski in New Zealand. I have no regrets at all. Even then, all I hear is .. wait for some more time, you'll regret it! It's been a long time.. still not regretting.

I had this thought: if I had a child and he/she came to me and asked, "Why, Dad? Why did you have me? I can't handle this pressure and pain. I'm tired of this mundane, repetitive life. I'm done. All this suffering could have been avoided if you had considered it from my perspective." That is when I realized that there isn't a single selfless or convincing reason I could give them. This is why I have decided not to have children. Children aren't toys; they grow into mature individuals. People say life is a gift, but I believe we are potentially gifting 80+ years of imprisonment to a new life that didn't or couldn't ask for it. In law, when you can't get consent for a certain action from an individual, you should not make the decision for them. In such cases, no action is the best action.
@shubhamnh

This situation coming up depends on the environment and kind of upbringing the child has. Society's expectations from the child. Financial conditions etc. This "modern" world where we're chasing endless growth constantly leads to such pressure. It's ironic how isolated communities/tribes are probably much more happy and content than people living in cities for example.

Isn’t life all about facing challenges and growing. If your kids are asking these questions then definitely you as a parent is not doing a good job raising them. Life is never easy no matter where you live or in what era you’re born. When parents have a certain perspective the kids eventually receive it too and what’s the guarantee that even after having all the material stuff in life you’ll be happy. Being a parent is the hardest thing you can do in your life but by being one it makes you realize your own deep set beliefs. When you raise a new life you start asking questions from your deep set beliefs that you’ll never do otherwise. Apart from that you start realizing the kind of compassion and love your own parents put in while raising you. I believe having kids is a personal choice and having somewhat of financial safety net is definitely important before having kids. However, my mom always say that each kid brings his own luck for the family and sometimes things do start to fall in place once you have your kids. Same goes for your marriage as well, sometimes luck starts triggering once you have certain events in life.

No one misses on anything. Psychologically, if you haven't experience something in first 30-35 years of life, how can you miss that experience? It's just people mostly do kids either because of following reasons: 1. Parents or partner pressure 2. FOMO by looking others around them 3. Want to leave inheritance or legacy None of which is a valid reason to do so.

Environmentally speaking, I feel having no kids is the go-to thing in today's times. You could say I have a gloomy, pessimistic attitude towards Life but about people who talk of demographic dividend or having kids, I feel it is so pointless because just today or tomorrow, we may lose out on water, good air etc. and then what use do all of these things hold. It is also just shocking how even billionaires or people who are so well-informed and educated tend to ignore the environmental problems that look over us. Both Kiran Mazumdar Shaw and Nikhil kamath come from Bangalore and we all know what's happening in the city. I just want to know what their opinion is when it comes to this environmental aspects.

I wonder how many folks realise that children are joyful and an important responsibility too. As a parent you are responsible for the wellbeing of your child - Emotional , physical, financial and all other aspectsk. I think most young people or certain people live in the past. I know a woman who was an air hostess. She married and is a house wife and has kids but likes only minding her own business. She does her duties. But she behaves as a teenager. She likes her privacy. She does her stuff. And is a part of NGO. She is very aloof as a person. Very reserved. Some people today are like that. They like their freedom. They don't want to take any responsibilities. They just want to roam, spend money, party etc and that's life for them. Some just are more obsessed with themselves and their comforts and that's a priority to them. Well initially that's okay. Later people get lonely and depressed.

I don't want my body to undergo so many changes like pregnancy, postpartum and some hormonal changes 3. I don't want to invest too much emotions on my kids I have seen almost all mothers or parents giving too much love to their kid and they can't tolerate little arrogance from kids. They start acting too dramatic I don't want to be that 4.I hate this world and education system I don't want to pressure my kids regarding studies but now adays competition is getting more and more so im worried about that 5.I have my own dreams and life so I won't feel happy If I sacrifice that 6. My MIL is negative person she is not staying with us if I have kid she comes and starts staying with us and she is obsessed with kid and she gonna snatch kid from me and she might teach some negative things about me and my husband for that kid and make my kid stubborn I want to avoid her But My family has to understand this I don't know what to do

We watch our actions and words. Yes, some of us are not rich but we try our best . We are not perfect either, but every sincere parent does try. We are not doing any favor to the child. Imagine even when that child gets physically or mentally bruised, parents would say thats the way he will be become stronger for what future holds. How does a parent justify the suffering of their offspring when they have to face any disease or disorder? This orthodox school of thought that child is the only way to achieve eternal happiness should be changed. In this world of natural calamities or man made wars, how does a person ensure their child will not have to go through its turmoils?

If you have a kid, you'd love the way you're connecting back to yourself. It's not just about discovering opportunities. As a businessman or an entrepreneur, having kids really helps us connecting with next generations and your DNA gets carried on if you raise your kids groundedly. Education is not just about curriculum and schools, it's about someone holding younger kids hands and teaching them what's right and wrong on a daily basis. Organizations and their donations cannot change the truth that parents can influence early in anyone's life. This influence is useless. Is situational and she didn't want or couldn't make, doesn't change facts of any society.
@ekktharaawal1360
@ekktharaawal1360 6 ай бұрын
Plus, giving birth to and raising kids is more challenging and satisfying than donating wealth. Raising kids to be great individuals without any expectations from them is a bigger and better way of giving back (one of a kind Nikhil or Nithin k) to society. No amount of charity can compare to that. Most importantly, it's your moral obligation towards your parents to carry the family legacy forward and bring future generations (blood lines) into this world. It's also about witnessing and building great future (WTF!) communities while you are still alive. Imagine you own a company. As an employer, it's one of your duties to make profits and take care of your employees. Would you go and serve the employees of other companies or help them grow when your own employees are feeling let down or there ain't enuf good people to run your company? The same holds true for family as well. Charity begins at home. IF possible, have your own babies, give the elders of your loving family a reason to smile, before opening yourself to the blessings of the world. Once you pass, even the ones (or causes) you donated money to won't remember you. On a lighter note, in the corporate world, technically, it's called 'work avoidance'. Lol

If you you don't achieve these two basic objective then the life is considered a failure by nature. Since Humans are social animals, we have an additional objective - Survive, Reproduce & Pleasure. Unlike other species, which are driven by instinct, we humans possess thinking capabilities that allow us to bypass those natural instincts and make informed choices. If a deer had capabilities like us, it might refrain from reproducing, knowing that many of its offspring will become prey for other animals higher in the hierarchy. However, due to natural instinct, they continue to reproduce. We humans have empathy and sympathy, yet some people still choose to have children, despite knowing that their offspring will face life struggles, pain in their final years, and ultimately death. Along with the mundane aspects of life for 50 years , all of which they didn't sign up for. If you ask me, I would suggest considering adoption if that inner instinct to nurture is present or u fear of dying alone.

The greying population is a challenge to any country. But can an average Indian family afford to have more kids when the cost of life is so high? Education, housing, food and healthcare, nothing comes cheap. Can one of the parents stay home to take care of the children? Do we have safe childcare services and family-friendly work culture ? We see homemakers taking care of the household and children 24/7 as the partner is too busy at work. Do we have social security? It is too simplistic to say we should have children so that the country has the ideal demography.

Young people in India, try to avoid responsibility. Taking responsibility always rewards in life be it monetarily at your job/business or in life with relationships. Life is all about making relationships so why wouldn't one invest in the strongest bond that can ever exist, between a parent and child. The vagabond life of roaming eating luxury has an end in the high 30s beyond that you need something to look up to that makes your life complete. Remember every species reproduces, so without experiencing it your life will be incomplete. Also just remember ppl abroad not only raise kids but also do house chores like dishes,clothes, taking kids around for classes along with the job. My point is it's easier to raise a kid in India than in the US or UK where you don't have cheap labor accessible for help. So don't run away from taking the most important responsibility in life it will hit you hard at a point later when luxury/abundance will be there but no real relationship to share it with

There is a concept - childless by circumstance. It is different from childless by choice. Childless by circumstance is what Kiran is describing. Not many people know about this differentiation - many even presume that if one doesn’t have children, it’s by choice. No, not having the right circumstances at the opportune time for having babies is a truth that many women and men grapple with (an unsupportive spouse, late marriage or no marriage, health issues, financial constraints, are just some of the reasons. PS: for those who think “there’s always adoption” no, it’s never that simple. More conversations need to happen around this aspect of childlessness.
